Kanata Flooring, Kanata Reviews (2)
Kanata Flooring encourages their customers to purchase 15%-20% more tile than actually required for the job with a guarantee to refund any open tile boxes. I was wary about and against my better instincts I agree to their recommended approach even though I had calculated what was required for the job. After the work was completed, we had 1-2 unopened boxes of tile...you guessed it. Kanata Flooring refused to provide refund and it was their recommendation to purchase more than I needed in the first place! Don't trust them...And do everyone a favour ...PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!
The installation of laminate flooring (an $11,000 project) was reasonably well done. But getting service after installation has been impossible. Just a litany of unanswered emails and unkept promises! The follow up work that needed doing was relatively minor. In the end, a contractor who was doing other work for us took care of it!
I have since bought the same flooring from another retailer as I refuse to give this one any more business.

i understand your frustration of not returned phone calls and unanswered emails, i find it as a poor business practice and quite rude myself, but you did say the installation was reasonably well done .. so i do believe they deserve at least couple of stars for that ... no? .. its not like they totally screwed up everything they touched. cuz trust me, there are those out there as well ;-)
I too had the same problems with them My floor was installed poorly. I had them do my whole house. We just built it so it should have been an easy install as there was no furniture. When I complained about the cuts, seams not being clued dirt underneath they finally send someone but their comments were "the workers must have cut the floor", and "considering it is such a big area they did a good job" etc. They saw the size of the rooms when they took the job. When I tried to go on their carpet one "beautiful policy" they said I didn't fall under that warrenty. Not sure why since they are Carpet One dealers. It has been 2 years and my floors are still not fixed. They said I had to deal with an Armstrong Rep and I am still waiting 6 weeks later. Would I buy from them again...Not in this life time. Would I recommend them ...Never. Too bad for them as I have a full basement that will need to be finished. I would go to HomeDepot before I would trust them again.
I have been trying to contact them for weeks now and my husband decided to drive by on his way home from work....There is a notice on the door that they have filed for bankruptcy.
