Bought much there over the years. Recent small buy same experience; excellent assortment but edgy to arrogant sales staff.
Shout out to Cory in the warehouse who went the extra mile for me and made it a good and positive transaction!

This is by far the worst company. They refused to give me any information over the phone told me to come down to the store. I had never install carpets before as the carpets in my home were from when I purchased it 40 years ago. I wanted to understand the process on how to get the carpets installed, who would be coming to the house and what the total breakdown cost was. They refused stating its a total cost they would only give. Feel completely misled, they are very dishonest people. Transparency is the key which there is none.

Curtis Carpets installed linoleum in my kitchen and it looks just wonderful. The guys that installed it for me were on time and finished sooner than they thought they would. The inconvenience of having renovation done was kept to a minimum and they were so friendly and polite. The price was reasonable and they were able to accommodate my busy schedule. I couldn't be happier.

From some of the reviews on this site, you may be questioning calling Curtis Carpets to replace your flooring. All I can tell you, from my personal experience, is that I have never worked with a more professional or caring company. Honestly if I could rate them higher than 5 stars, I wouldn't hesitate. From start to finish Edith (our salesperson) was on top of every question or concern we had. She was knowledgeable, prompt and always had a smile on her face. As with any renovation project, there were hiccups along the way, but Curtis was always ready with a solution. Curtis Carpets has earned my business for years to come.

Waited for my flooring to come in for a long time. Finally came in and they couldnt install because they didnt have staff to do it. Installed poorly, no return phone calls to rectify the situation. Will never go back again!

Visited Curtis Carpet to get some carpet installed in our home. After picking out a carpet we were quoted an estimated. A week later we had someone come over to take measurements. After about week called the sales rep for the actual estimate. Another week went by and I received the estimate by email, well it was twice the amount that she quoted to us in the store. There were no breakdown of labour material etc, just a flat amount. I called her to discuss the estimate, well two weeks later I am still waiting for a return phone call back. I am glad to take my business elsewhere.

We had chosen Curtis because they had done some carpet in our basement 8 years ago and it went well. We decided to have the tile redone in our kitchen, we went back to curtis selected a tile and they came to measure the room.

We agreed on a price, even though we thought it was higher than we were expecting, they started the job 4 weeks later.

After completing half the job they didn't show up for the second day. We called 4-5 times wand took off work to be home, no call back.

Next day no call back.

We ended up hiring another company a few blocks away to finish the job.

Curtis will never get our business again.

I would NOT buy any products from this company! I had to leave more than 6 messages before I finally got a hold of anyone. The product was inferior and when I called they told me it was my fault. Six weeks after spending over $12000 with them, the floors are peeling up. I contacted them two days after they were done and sent pictures of a piece of my old flooring they pulled up and it is now a year later and their answer is that I pulled the piece up!!!!!! I sent them pictures less than two days later (next day I believe).
They ignored me and then refused to do anything. I was nothing but polite and patient and I believe that was my error. It has now been a year and I am being completely ignored.
Do NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!!!

We ordered a kitchen floor with installation - they didn't even bother to call us to notify us they weren't coming on the install date- when I called to see if they were coming as they were late for the install ( as I had to take the day off work) I was told that the flooring didn't arrive on the truck to the store b/c there was some accident- this happened a second time to us, and finally on the third install date they arrived. Terrible customer service and seemingly dishonest.

Wrote a letter of complaint to the company and never received a response. I tell everyone I can- use a different company!

I had an insurance claim and went to pick out a carpet which I was told was similar in price and quality and price. I however neglected to ask how the carpet would stand up to pets, in particular my daughter's cat. The rep at Curtis also did not ask whether I had pets. Unfortunately a couple of months later the carpet on the steps and landing were snagged by the cat. I called Curtis carpets and they came by to look at the carpet on at least two occasions, once repaired the cat's damage and the other time to access the damage. In the end Curtis replaced the carpet on the steps and landing with another carpet which is cat friendly and they could have simply refused to do so! In addition, I got a follow up call asking me, if the job was to my satisfaction! Thank you very much Curtis carpets, for your courtesy and professionalism, it is very much appreciated!
Sincerely,
Brenda H.

I can't say too much, as we're still embroiled in dealing with Curtis at our builder's insistence.
Do EVERYTHING you can to avoid dealing with anyone at Curtis Carpets. This organization is rotten from inside out, and you will definitely get screwed - it's just a matter of how exactly they will do it. (They have several tricks that end up costing you thousands of dollars more than you would pay anywhere else). They've almost admitted to us that they can do whatever they want, and our builders don't want to hear about it. We're stuck with them - you should try not to be.

Bought and paid for living room carpet. When it eventually arrived, it was 2 meters too wide and we had to pay for the wasted extra, if you can believe that! Their excuse was that we had given them the room dimensions in inches, and it was too difficult to convert to meters. I would strongly advise everyone NOT to ever use this particular business.

We had a housefire in April 2009 - the contractor used Curtis Carpet. We decided to change from wall to wall carpeting to hardwood. We could never get a straight answer from them about the price - the intallers were horrible and when they were done left a huge mess that we ensded up cleaning. Before we even moved back into our house the flooring started to warp. We went back to them over and over again and got nowhere. Tell EVERYONE to never use curtis carpet - they DO NOT deserve your business!!

We had heard numerous comments regarding Cutis Carpets and their lack of follow-through. We are in the process of building and had attempted to use another company for our flooring. However, our builder routinely uses Curtis carpets and convinced us not to take our flooring needs elsewhere.
As a result, our possession date has been postponed by weeks, due to havig to deal with a damaged product and back order delays.
The installers are a nightmare. They have no regard for the other fixtures in the home. We are looking at having to restore a vanity, as well as our countertops, as they have placed their gear/spilled coffee on these items causing discoloration and scratch marks.
We had a bad feeling about this company from the start, and I would highly recommend that others avoid any dealings with them if at all possible.

We too had built a house and had to use curtis Carpets by our builder. The intial picking out of our carpet, hardwood and vinyl flooring was good. Gail was great with helping us pick our colors, style ect...and the end resuls were good.
We are developing our basement and were told that we could get the same pricing as we got from the builder when we were ready. So on July 23 we ordered our carpet. Gail was on holidays so we were directed to another sales person. It is now September 10 and we still do not have our carpet. After numerous calls we just keep on getting the runaround and one sad excuse after another. All we want is our carpet...why is that so hard to get ???

We are in the process of building a new 4400 sq. foot home and used Curtis Carpets as our carpet supplier - mostly because it was close to our house. I woudl not recommend them to any family or friends. Our staff person, Edith, was nice, but if she wasn't in it was as if we were lepers. The rest of the staff would not make eye contact with you and if you did finally manage to stop one to ask a question you felt as though you were interrupting something terribly important they were about to do. I asked about a leather look tile and the sales person flat out told me that they don't make such a thing (which is not true) and then I asked about a tile that looked like ostrich skin and she scoffed (yes, a company makes that also). So, not only are the staff rude, they are not knowledgeable.

To all residents of manitoba who are planning on installing new flooring please listen very closely. Friends of ours who built a house with the best Winnnipeg builder in winnipeg had no choice but to use Curtis carpets as their flooring company as the builder has tunnel vision and cannot see straight, that Curtis carpets has the worst PR ever. The owners of the company are the worst condesending and very rude and tend to backstab their own customers and builders and say terrible things behind their backs. The end result of their installation isn't at all great and there are so many flooring companies out there.... dont waste your time and money with Curtis...they are deplorable. The owner Wayne has no idea what he is doing and apparently his hardwood supplier changed and he had no idea which it turn effected the customers outcome and their floor is all uneven, now what kind of an owner does not know the mill has changed where he is purchasing product from!!!!!!!!!!!! duh!!!!!! how stupid can people be?? NOONE CAN WRAP THEIR HEAD AROUND THIS STORY!!.
