My husband and I have recently bought a new house and thought it would be a great idea to get our hardwood floors installed from the very beginning to save on any additional mess. But it has turned out to be nothing but problems. From day 1, on the very first PDI, we commented on how marked up the boards were. All throughout the great room and hallway many of the edges have knicks in them that go right down to the original colour of the wood. You can’t help but notice.

So thinking that their motto is “excellence in hardwood”, we thought that our problems would be resolved in a timely fashion. Well that went down the drain. We moved into our house in November 2007, and it is now August 2008. We have had numerous “appointments” with Weston people, including the owner, service men, and the super of this work site. We have had putty put in the gaps, which dried out over time and fell out, markers used, which wore off over time because it wasn’t sealed after, and a mess of them cutting boards out, that are now mismatched compared to the rest of the floor. But apparently that’s because it was from a different lot number (basically a different box) which doesn’t make sense that they would install it knowing that that was going to be another problem after.

Today another Weston guy came in, saying now that it wasn’t their fault, and put the blame on the manufacture. So now we have to set up another appointment, this time with the manufacture and Weston Flooring. The reason behind this one is that they don’t want to back bill the manufacture without them seeing the problem. What! If you ask me, it is them putting the blame on someone else so that they can buy more time, and hope that we drop the whole issue in frustration. If Weston Flooring, believed in “excellence”, they would not be concerned about back billing a manufacture, and would resolve the problem so that their customer is satisfied. What the service men said, in not so many words, is that they are more concerned about keeping good terms with their manufacture, then their customers. Never again would we deal with Weston flooring, they’ve made it obvious that they don’t stand behind their product, or customers.
