Sentinel is an amazing company and the charges are very reasonable if you were to look around you would be charged alot more then that if you were to call a company like Edwards you would be charged over a hundred dollars just for their labour.
Alarm was ringing when first employee enterered business in the morning. Called Sentinel & told which lights were lit on the panel (one was battery). A few hours later, a technician arrived, looked at the panel & said "you need to change the battery". She said "yes, I told the operator the battery light was on". He had to drive back to get the batteries. When the invoice came, the labour charge was 1.5 hours, whereas he had been in the business a total of maybe 20 minutes + a $30 "truck charge".
Thinking they'd made a mistake, I called to tell them it had only taken 20 minutes (afterall, the fact that he had to drive back was THEIR fault). I was told, abruptly, that 1.5 hours is the minimum charge, as is the "truck charge" (we are 12 km away from their office). So ... that's $125 for just stepping out their door.
When I said this is excessive, considering the length of this call, & the fact that they only had to drive a few km up the road to our place, she said I could talk to the owner -- but he wouldn't be in, so try next week.
We are a very small business just trying to get on our feet -- $125 for this is unreasonable & a rip-off! I'm going to start looking around for other options.
