He received his BA in molecular and cell biology from UC Berkeley, before moving to Philadelphia to complete his MD degree and preliminary internal medicine year, both at Temple University. He went on to complete neurology residency at Stanford University, and subsequently completed a Sleep Medicine fellowship at the Stanford Sleep Medicine Center.
