Top Bach advertises 2-Three Bedroom Apts in a Luxury Apt Building in downtown Santo Domingo. The description clearly states that the apartments are on the 2nd and 3rd floor and the pictures are very nice. I chatted with them before booking and was advised that one of the apts was booked until tomorrow but I would be offered another apartment on the 4th floor “that looks just as nice” just for tonight. We booked 3 nights. They explained that we would move to our 3rd floor apt in the morning once the guests checked out. The conversations was pleasant and they seemed accommodating so I believed what I was told. BIG MISTAKE. When we arrived checkin was easy and the security gave me codes to apts 203 & 403. 403 was shabby but we were tired, hungry and again, it was just for the night. The next morning I reached out to them about the move. We were a large group (12) that had a busy schedule so I reached out again asking what time we should be ready to move. I called the number on the reservation (A Miami Number) and spoke with Luis. Luis confirmed that I would be moving from 403 to 303 and would contact me with the code once the apt was ready. When we moved down the housekeeper was nice and explained she needed the keys to the “other apt” I gave her the keys to 403 and she explained she needed the keys to 203. There was clearly a mixup so I called Luis back and explained that the house keeper was under the impression I was staying in 403 and moving out of 203. Luis exact words “Idk I get the apartments confused, let me call you back.” Luis called me back explaining that the she was right and that we needed to vacate 203 because he had guests checking in today. I explained to Luis that the reservation is for 2nd & 3rd floor apts and to be honest 403 is run down so we would rather stay in 203 and 303 as advertised. Luis advised he promised 203 to someone today and they needed that specific apt. I explained that we had already moved all of our belongings from 403 to 303 and to move back would be an inconvenience. In the interest of saving time and not moving our party of 12 & a baby back and forth up and down throughout the building I pleaded with Luis to accommodate us. To what had been a pleasant conversation he responded “You can move now or I can call the police.” Never have I had the police called on me. Threatening to call the police on an American in a foreign country is low and a tactic used to intimidate because he knows I don’t speak the language. I immediately got Airbnb involved because I no longer felt comfortable being in this environment. I requested a refund for the remaining days and apologized to my family for having to uproot them but I could not sleep in a place where I did not feel safe or respected as a guest. Airbnb was quick acting, and had us standby while they contacted the host to get his side of the story. In the midst of this “Luis” still in Doral, sent several people into the apt to stand over us. My family came up to my apt advising that they had disconnected the power in 203. It was scorching hot and they cut the power. I reached out to Airbnb again to advise of the developments and then the police he threatened to call actually showed up. We explained the situation as best we could (not speaking the language) using google translate the host became upset with the police and asked for a supervisor to the scene. While waiting for the supervisor the host disconnected the power in my apt. I contacted Airbnb again and submitted video that the power had been disconnected and the police were onsite. No power meant no wifi and I had to call Airbnb using my cellular data in order to communicate. To disable the electricity with children in the apartment while we waited for the Police Lt. you requested is low! We were hot, sweaty and I had to stand on the balcony to get enough signal to receive messages. They saw the evidence, refunded my money and helped me find a suitable place for myself and my family. The Lt. arrived and scolded them for his disgusting practices, making his staff reconnect the power.

Everyone must go to Top bachelor Party for their parties & events. They are one of the finest party & event organizers in the Dominican Republic. I enjoyed a lot here at my friends' party.
