When I was in 4th grade, we were studying KY authors. I decided then that I too wanted to be a KY author. After teaching home economics for 30 years, I retired and took a job at the newly built Performing Arts Center as administrative assistant to the director. I worked there for eight years and I immediately thought, "NOW, I can work on my book! After going through my recipes and my Mom's, I reached out to people in our community and to past students. The publishing company said recipes had to be owned by them, not out of a magazine. I wrote stories about living on a farm and the connection between my mother and I. Once all that work was done, it was time to edit, edit, edit! December, 2011 1500 books arrived and they were almost all were sold by July, 2012. We made the decision to buy 1500 more and we have a significant amount to sell still. It is a wonderful book, I have had folks who buy the book and then after supper stay up to read every word Performing Arts Center
