The staff is great and my 3- year old daughter actually gets excited to go get her teeth cleaned (she's been twice now). However, my 5-yo son with mild autism is scared and they always have great patience with him here! I have been personally going here since I was little, now this is where I take my kids!

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Murray and all of his staff! The office is sparkling clean, smells great when you walk in the door (not the "dentist" smell), has friendly, helpful, professional staff, and Dr. Murray is the best, I wouldn't go anywhere else!
I love going there to get my teeth cleaned and visiting with everyone- such a warm, friendly, personable environment.

I have been going to this dental office for about 17 years and have had nothing but positive experiences there. The front desk has been polite and the staff at the back have been very accomodating when answering any questions I have had. They have gotten to know alot about my life outside of being a patient and now are getting to know my wife and children. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a dental office. AD

Here's a scenario - You're having a dental appointment with a good dentist, and another bad walks in, interrupts your appointment and is extremely rude to you. Sound like a good story?

Want to be treated like garbage? I strongly encourage you to go see Dr. Stephen Murray and Associates in Oshawa.First off, if you want a question answered in regards to your personal situation - let's say you want to know about a root canal - please feel free to ask one of the incredibly impatient staff who will cut you off mid sentence and act far more superior than you because they must love their jobs. Secondly, if you want a dentist , an actual DR. to be assumptive, condescending, rude and unprofessional, please see DR. Stephen Murray. He will gladly facilitate with all of those things. I went in because I was told I needed a root canal, that my tooth was already dead just because i didn't feel a little cold on that particular tooth. I was sceptical because a few weeks after visiting the office - I felt pain that tooth. Wow, evidently not dead and thus I wanted to understand how it could have been so quickly written off as "DEAD TOOTH - ROOT CANAL 100%" so I called in. BIG MISTAKE! Apparently as a patient that is interested in the well being of their health, I'm not allowed to ask questions without receiving brutal attitude. I go in a few days after, and speak with who I found out was the "office manager" / receptionist. Who pulled me into her office, and let me know in a very comforting way, that she will have a work with the Dentist Dr. Pistol who is a very nice person and very fair. After explaining to the woman who worked there, that my tooth wasn't dead and perhaps I don't need the root canal, - she said wonderful. Called me a few yesterday Nov 24th 2010 - and said we'd be doing some xrays that were free of charge to really see where we are at... she understood how important that was to me because i wanted to understand what was really going on with my tooth. So xrays with the dentist Dr. Pistol before we went in a did a "root canal, or filling or whatever had to be done- at least we were on the same current page. Today 1:15 I went in for my appointment. The dental assistant led me into a room. I brought my mother with me for support as I am quite nervous when someone digs around in my mouth. I don't know anyone that enjoys a dental visit unless it's to get their braces removed. She led me into the room for an xray and said ok so just an xray today. I was surprised because for the last 3 weeks i've been under the impression that i had a root canal appointment regardless of which direction we ended up going after diagnosing the current status of my tooth. I said it's not just an xray or today. I took work off all day, i'm not paid when I miss work. She repeats no it's just an xray. So I'm a bit confused a bit frustrated. The dentist Dr. Pistol comes in and takes the xray says it looks like a definite root canal but my appointment for one has been removed from the system. At this point i'm very confused. Another dentist, DR. STEPHEN MURRAY barges into my appointment with Dr. Pistol and let's me know that the woman who scheduled an xray took the root canal appointment out. I asked, why on earth would she do that... he replied "she's the office manager, she calls the shots" So i'm quite upset because I've prepared for this appointment, I'm in a fair amount of pain and I drove in from Toronto all the way to Courtice, Oshawa - to do this today and I don't have another day off untll Christmas. I said, the only reason I came into the office to get a real & clear answer about my situation was because when i called in after feeling pain in my "dead" tooth - I was given a lot of attitude, a lot of impatience and was cut off mid sentence multiple times because someone was having a bad day.

Dr. Stephen Murray let me know that he doubts anyone was rude to me , and if they were it was because they were provoked. I was taken back by this. I asked him if he was implying that I was rude on the phone ? Rude?! Really? He tells me "That's exactly what i'm implying" So at this point not only is this DENTAL PROFESSIONAL being rude, condescending and ASSUMPTIVE .. he is being arrogant and completely unprofessional. I asked him.. were you on the phone when i had this phone call?? He said no, I said are you sure the lines weren't tapped directly to a ear piece? Because you have no idea the tone of the phone call. If it was pleasant and I was assisted than I would have no need coming in and letting someone know i had terrible service where i was treated like an idiot, like i'm not allowed to ask about my own situation. He then lets me know that he's the owner of the dental office and he wants me to leave. I stop in the entrance and turn to Dr. Stephen Murray and say --- You are unprofessional, and your staff is extremely rude. He lets me know that he's about to start yelling. So I ask him how on EARTH HE IS A DENTIST, A DOCOTR-- AND HAS NO THRESHOLD FOR PATIENCE, and that i'd definitely be writing reviews. DISGUSTING TREATMENT.

When a dentist barges in to give his two cents only to incriminate you and have you leave
you gotta wonder- who on earth gives out diplomas to ignorant people like this?
Kellogs ? In a cereal box? Honestly- For a doctor, of all people to ASSUME, and behave to rude and naively --- does he really think he has to protect the image of his shoe box dentist office? YES Steven, even your staff at Murray and Associates can be rude. They can be ignorant, just like you.
