I've been a patient of Dr. Lam for approximately 15 years, and during that time he has treated me with respect, been patient with my questions, and always accommodated my busy schedule.

One of his best qualities is that he recommends only what is essential to maintain my dental health; he has actually talked me out of procedures I thought I needed...and he was right, time proved they were unnecessary.

Another great quality is that he has a very gentle hand. He has performed some rather invasive and complicated procedures on me, and never once has he caused me any significant discomfort. Bottom line is that if you are seeking a patient, gentle dentist who will treat only what is called for, look no further!

Dr. Lam has been my dentist on and off for 8 years and I cant say enough good about him. Not only is he a great dentist - he's also one of those rare health service providers who really tries to help people in need. Instead of running a fancy clinic that looks like it is meant only for the rich, he has a simple, unpretentious set-up that won't intimidate people needing treatment who happen to be poor. It's very clear that he finds a way of treating people who have fallen on hard times. I'm one of the lucky ones with a good job and excellent insurance, so when I left the west end, I decided reluctantly to try a dentist closer to my new digs. It was a typical fancy clinic with many showy gadgets, tv screens and extra services to choose from. But I didn't stay with them long - no amount of fancy gadgetry could replace Dr. Lam's calm, kind manner, and gentle treatment style. So pretty soon i was traveling back to Davie street for my checkups and cleanings. I get better service, and I know my patronage is supporting a clinic that does very valuable community work.

Dr. Lam has been my dentist for about 8 years now. I'm one of those unfortunates who has spent a fortune on dental work as I'm cursed with horribly soft and delicate teeth and do not have a dental plan. So I've had quite a few dentists in my life - some good, some okay (no real bad ones). But Dr. Lam's perfectionism, calm manner and genuine compassion for his patients is a remarkable thing. No dentist is perfect and never makes a mistake; but the two times I've had any issue with his work (out of dozens of procedures), Dr. Lam has repaired or re-done it without charge. In fact, one time HE noticed a minor problem with a filling and fixed it for free on a routine exam.

He also takes time to explain a procedure to you and presents all options to you if there are any. He's a wonderful dentist and worth travelling for.

The only negative thing I can say is that I wish he'd upgrade some of his equipment - in particular I wish he'd move to a digital xray system. Lower power (so safer) and the results are instantly available; not to mention that they're much "greener" (no nasty chemicals).

I have been a patient of Dr.Lams for over 5 years, I think he is one of the kindest, and most professional people I've ever met.
He is calming to speak with, and his gentle approach to his work makes it much easier to sit in his chair.
Dr. Lam gives denistry a good name, but I'm guessing he makes it harder for other dentists to measure up!

I had a bit of a tight financial situation a few years back and doctor was very understanding and was extremely helpful with recommendations and dental work and billing.
Highly recommended!

It is obvious to me that Dr. Lam gives total concentration to limiting my pain during dental procedures. He is kind, does NOT rush, and does SUPERB dental work.

Dr. Lam has never talked me into more expensive or unnecessary dental techniques. In view of experiencing many years of GEM quality dentistry, I have recommended him to many friends.

5 Stars from me as well. It's true, his office could use some renovations, but Dr. Lam really is a great dentist. I actually don't mind the older furniture and the worn look - gives me the feeling that he is more about substance rather than having a stylish and flashy office - for which ultimately the patients have to pay!

More than once I almost fell asleep while he was working on a filling - he is that careful and professional. I never felt rushed or pushed into something that was not necessary.

What his office lacks in flair and decoration is well-compensated for by his attention to detail. He obviously takes great care to give you the best work possible. He will even refer you to others, when he thinks there is someone better than he is at a certain procedure. The guy is a real gem, and I trust him wholeheartedly.

Dr. Noel Lam is a great dentist. Friendly, understanding, and extremely professional. I'd reccommend him to anyone.
