Sad reading these reviews. Sounds mostly like stay-at-home moms who don't understand the business.

A real talent/modeling agency will never make you pay for anything. They pay for everything. A real agency finds talent they like and think is profitable and pays for the talent in the hopes that their talent will be good enough to pay via commissions off paid work their talent gets

Not pleased with the way I was treated at all. Very unprofessional
Making us wait unnecessarily just to tell us no because of his age when I signed him up I put his age so why waste my time.
Also pretty racist, Mexico, Dominican, if I hadn't cut them off they would have dug deep into that tiny brain of theirs to try and name what other Spanish countries they may know. Than asking if we have social insurance numbers, we wouldn't be there if we didn't. I've been doing work with various agents for the past six years and the way I was treated today was disgusting.

I signed with them as a actor they knew i was Actra but still sent me out to work on non-union productions. Their fees are outrages telling me i had to use their in-house photographer at almost a 1000.00. Stay away

My daughter, who was 15 at the time, (dark blond, slim, 5'10 and striking) didn't get one call to participate in anything. When we signed the contract, we were told she'd participate in the upcoming Wedding Fashion Show. We signed and there was no show. Repeated phone calls to the agency just provided excuses, like her age wasn't used much - what? The person who signed us had left, then the next person was never available...excuses, excuses. Then why did you take our $1000.00 upfront. It's called thievery! All we got was their crappy newsletter. I even tried speaking with Carolyn personally, and of course, she was never available. I hear that she is now retired and her daughter(s) are making a living this way. If you have to put up this kind of money, then pay for photos and more, it is a Scam. Should have done the research and learned from others who posted their poor experiences. Terrible experience for my daughter.

I just want to thank Carolyn's for giving my son chance and giving him the opportunity to be in the Southeast Talent Search Showcase Summer 2015.It was fantastic event and my son really enjoyed at the Convention. It was also a great experience for him.

I had contacted the agency by the other day and was told to come in Wednesday, 1:00 p.m., and to bring my daughter. When I had come in there were other moms waiting for the seminar to begin and of course moms got to chattin’. This one mother in particular had asked I was from the area and I told her “yes, not too far down the road.” She then had told me she travelled all the way from Thornhill to come here. I was shocked, there are 100 agencies listed closer to her than in Mississauga. She told me she had to come to this agency because she had heard such good reviews and the company only has one location. And in fact, has a friend whose daughter had been put on the cover of “some book.” Automatically I had thought that this place must be great, already I am hearing of another mother’s good reviews! I made a joke that it seems like a good thing I came and she made the effort to travel all this way.
I sat and I listed to the rep who gave us very detailed information of what to expect from the business and the expectations put on us as parents. It all seems reasonable until it came to the “administrative fees.” $300.00 to sign your child up, then about $40.00 annually to use their website where you as the parent have to update your child’s photos and measurements, and 20% of your child’s earnings is deducted by the agency. Oh and when your child turns 3, your contract gets terminated and you have to rejoin.
I took the contact that was handed out along with the other mothers knowing I wasn’t going to waste my money on a slightly possible chance my daughter might be casted in something. And it is not that the $300.00 is a lot of money, but why am I paying admin fees if I, the parent, have to do all the work updating my child profile. I would have been more accepting of just paying $40.00/mo to use the agency’s website to promote my daughter to their clients. When I got up to leave the mother I was speaking to seemed shocked I wasn’t sticking around. I guess because she shared with me the awesome reviews her friend had already given. I had lied and told her I was going home to think about it. While on the ride home I thought maybe I should look further into this agency, see if it is worth the money after all. So, when I got home I did some research on this agency and looked up the reviews. Truthfully, there isn’t must listed. HOWEVER, on the agencies website I did notice one important detail, they have a Toronto location! Now I don’t know about you, but something smelt a bit fishy to me.

My daughter also belonged to this agency in Mississauga many yrs ago when she was 10 and stayed with them till she was about 14 yrs old. It was also expensive back then but they taught her alot of things about the industry and how to impress clients in interviews. They did get alot of work for her, she was in several TV shows as background work, which paid her very well even after their commision. So yes even tho I understand your comment here they are a good agency and they have been around for a long time. It's up to you on how far and how serious you would like to go with your daughter, but we had a very good experience with them and never any issues.
