Premiere Dance Academy, Calgary Reviews (6)
Excellent NW Calgary dance studio that offers a variety of dance classes. Flexible class schedule, professional instructors and staff, and beautiful big, new clean, and bright state of the art studios.
Would recommend for beginners as well as advanced dancers looking to learn more, perform or even compete. Highly recommend.

I have nothing but positive comments and feelings about Premiere Dance Academy.
My children have been registered for the last three years, and my son is registered again this year.
Our experiences have been limited to the Royal Oak location. The studio space is on the smaller side - but never posed any issues.
The teachers (especially Ms Carmynne) have been excellent, friendly, personable, invested in my children's well being.
My daughter was uncomfortable about the recital - so they didn't force her to do it. She still attended classes regularly and enjoyed them.
My son went to one demo class at the silver springs location, upon the receptionists' recommendation, and he loved Mr. Sam so much that we signed him up on the spot.
The staff have been nothing but helpful and supportive. They truly care about their students and families and it shows.
Dance can be a different culture, but I haven't felt any of the snobbery that often plagues the dance community at PDA. In fact, I've felt quite the opposite.
At times, due to custody arrangements, my children have only attended in my parenting time - this has never been an issue for PDA and they still allowed my children to participate fully.
They have been flexible, when my daughter was experiencing anxiety and didn't like one class style- they switched her.
They go out of their way to help and did something the children enjoy and will thrive in.

I found this studio an awful, unprofessional place. They will never see me again!
The owner is as rude as it gets, she ignores the junior students as if they are not satisfying or exceptional enough, and only approaches the senior dancers. There is no equality nor fairness in her attitude. My lyrical teacher always ate large amounts of unhealthy foods(chocolate, candy, cookies)that usually left crumbs on the floor(and we had to dance on it).The first half of the class she obnoxiously talked about herself and what she did on the weekend, after we would begin the class-that usually involved the same simple exercise because she was "tired" or "nothing came to her head".In jazz the instructor felt that it was appropriate to swear and make rude comments at the students, we didn't get much done there either. The only class that has taught me a lot was ballet "Ms.Black" she was professional, and made useful corrections. However in every class you registered there was an obligation to do recital(performance at the end of the years)or if you chose not to do it, there was nothing for you to do in class after Christmas, but that's not the worst part-You must sign up and pay for the whole year, not just until winter break or after. I suggest you save your time(and money)and please avoid this somewhat the call a "dance studio" because trust me , it won't do you any good!

I took my daughter the the Royal Oak Premier Dance location. Some (not all) of the staff are extremely rude, and this location definitely encompasses the stereotypical nasty dance culture that I thought only existed on reality shows. The owner of the studio is unfriendly, and the culture stems from her.
The email communications... all I can say is... wow!! Extremely rude, inconsiderate, nasty... I don't know who writes those emails, but they definitely need a lesson in how to communicate effectively and respectfully.
I won't be brining my daughter back here... I'll take my business elsewhere.

We have been with PDA for 3 years. Money is the only thing the owner is caring about.
I was paying around $280 monthly this year. My daughter got sick for 2 month and even if I gave them the doctor’s note they refunded only 1 month fee still owing $280 for other month.
In reality if you paid them and then decide to move, get sick or just cancel the classes, you NEVER get your money back. What they refund is a dancing voucher for the next dancing year and it is non-transferrable.
Imagine it is the last year of dancing for your child and you get a dancing voucher for next year! What are you going to do with it?!
The culmination is I made a registration of my daughter for the next dancing year and they DID NOT ACCEPT the voucher I received from them for missing classes. They are still demanding the payment immediately!
I friendly warn you to think many times before considering the registration with PDA.
