I was really hopeless looking at the reviews but then I noticed one who suggested to use their online chat service so I gave it a try. I contacted an agent and rescheduled a delivery in less than 15 minutes! I still cannot rate 5 stars as the original delivery date was sooner than expected which caused me to miss my package in the first place.

I read some of the reviews and became nervous. Then I figured people generally write a review when something goes wrong. Perhaps I was right. My delivery was on time, the tracking was good and the delivery man was polite and friendly. Thought Purolator could use a positive review. I had no problems whatsoever.

Worst, worst worst ... service. I have no words to say how bad they are in services and why companies use this service to send parcels. Most annoying thing is that they LIE. Drivers even do not attempt to deliver and online tracking status is updated that delivery attempt failed even without any note. I keep waiting all the day for my critical parcel and

Would give zero stars if I could. They did not even try a second attempt at deli and then I getaway notice saying I have five days to pick it up in LACHINE at the industrial Parc. I don't have a car, it's an hour away by bus and there is almost no bus service to that location (360 rue Norman) to begin with so it includes walking fourth minutes on a road with no sidewalks to get there. WTF?!?
Never again.
Avoid at all costs!!

I was waiting this morning for my packages and even peeking outside the window from time to time because the last time I checked at 7:35 it said my packages are in a vehicle to be delivered. An hour later, I checked online again and it said that I missed the delivery... Which is bullshit because I was home all morning and nobody even rang my doorbell. I don't know if your drivers just don't give a shit anymore, but this is the 3rd time it has happened to me! WTH is this service? The last time I just didn't bother picking up my stupid package because there is no way I'm taking the bus to Ville St. Pierre and lose 2 hrs of my life. With all the complaints on here, I am surprised no one is doing anything! I am extremely dissatisfied with your service, and safe to say I am never going to use Purolator because the service is unimaginable. If I could give this zero star, I would!!

Hi JessicaLisa03,

I’m very sorry we disappointed you.

The term “Missed delivery” means that the delivery had to be rescheduled to the next business day. It could be because of the weather, mechanical issue or high volumes. Please email me the tracking number. I would like to look into this and be able to provide you more details on this particular situation.

Thanks,

Catherine

I have recived the same message from Purolator, but I went to website and clicked online chat. I explain my situation mentioning far destination, they reschaduel it to resend it again.
I had given wrong track number, but the operator patiently correct it. I wish I could recieve my package soon. In the case of any error I will write it here again.
I will use the service next time.

I think it's pretty obvious from previous reviews - however to add my 2 cents, I now completely avoid ordering online with any company that ships with Purolator. I will go so far as to find out beforehand. They have completely inconvenient hours for pick-up in this completely out-of-the-way location on Norman street in Lachine. I asked them to re-deliver, but "can't guarantee time" - forget it! God forbid I have a job - I guess they don't take that into consideration. Even more, God forbid you don't have a car to get to their remote pick-up location!!!!! Recently I went to pick-up my husbands package, however they stated it must be him: I had HIS Driver's licence, MY driver's licence with same address, and a hand-written letter, which was not enough, EVEN though it states clearly on their website in FAQ section that someone at same shipping address is permitted to pick-up packages. I really do rarely have such strong feelings for a company, but COMPLETELY AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrendous. Shame on them. I will never, ever use Purolator.

Hello,

I’m very sorry for any inconvenience that may have ensued.

We offer alternate delivery options such as redirect your shipment to a more convenient Purolator locations : http://www.purolator.com/purolator/ship-track/find-location.page?# or delivered to an alternate address such as your workplace. However, certain companies have additional security restrictions on their shipments that don’t allow us to change the delivery address or release it to another person, as we normally could do.

Please feel free to contact us directly at customer.care@purolator.com if you have any question or comment, we’ll be glad to help.

Thank you,

This company provides absolutely awful customer service. I recently received a delivery notice on a Monday, late afternoon, telling me that since I was not home during the attempted delivery I would have to travel to Lachine to pick up my parcel. Not only is their depot in a remote, industrial neighborhood that is a 20 minute drive from my home, it is also only open until 7pm on weekdays! How is someone who works during the week supposed to be able to find the time to rush home, find someone to watch the kids and then fight rush hour traffic to pick up a package? On top of all that, when I finally arranged everything, rushed home and drove to the depot on the following Tuesday evening (the previous Friday was a holiday meaning the depot was closed), the woman behind the counter tells me that because it had been 5 business days since the attempted delivery they had returned the package to the vendor that afternoon! Apparently they include the attempted delivery day as one business day and then return the package early during the fifth day. That means that if you can't rearrange your life in the span of three days following a delivery notice, they'll ship your package back and make you jump through hoops to have the package returned to the depot! Canada post has three pick-up points within walking distance of my home, all of which are open until 9pm 7 days a week. Do not EVER use Purolator if you have to ship something. They make it so incredibly difficult for you to actually receive your package. Awful customer service, awful business planning, awful company!

I got a delivery notice this morning.. I called to find out where it was. I chose the option for English, then the option for pick up, since I want to pick up my parcel. Then it asks me stuff about picking up something from my house. So Purolator picking up something instead of the inverse. There's no back-up option.

I hang up the phone and call again. I wait until the message says track a parcel. I know it's arrived so I no longer need to track it, I need to find out where it is and pick it up, but OK, I pick that. It tells me to speak or input my tracking number. I quickly realize I can't type in my tracking number because it would probably not work, since I have a combination of letters and numbers. I say the letters and numbers. It tells me it doesn't understand, that if I have letters and numbers I have to say the tracking numbers (thanks, figured that out), for letters, I have to say the letter and a corresponding word. So I say T for Toronto, P for Pirate, A for Alligator.. then the numbers. The phone still doesn't understand. I hang up.

I go to my laptop to check the website. I put in the tracking number, it tells me the package is Lachine. OK, we're getting somewhere. I wonder if the office in Lachine is open today. I look up the phone number... it's the same phone number that totally didn't work for me previously. But there's a link to email the office. So I click on it... but I have to fill in the destination field with an email for your office that I just don't have, which completely defeats the purpose of the email link.

So I google the address in Lachine. I fall across this website which gives me a number...which refers me to the other number that doesn't work at all. The operator is unavailable. I figure that you should be open because who would pay for a Purolator parcel just to get a slip that refers you to an office that's closed for Good Friday? Maybe the Saturday, Maybe Sunday and obviously Easter Monday? Hard to tell.

Given that I paid to have my stuff delivered because I need my stuff, despite having no idea if you are open or not, I'm going to drive out to Lachine to try to pick it up. My hunch though is that the Lachine office will be closed for the next 4 days, which means that I would have been a million times better up picking up my stuff from downtown, even if I am in my third trimester of pregnancy!

So apparently the deliver came today's morning at 8:45 am, obviously I was already by that time. I live in Downtown, full time student and have no access to vehicle. So I looked up on google map and found out that I the "shortest way" to get to the shipping center located in Lachine is to take an 1 hour bus and then walk for 10minutes....wow I certainly have the time to go get my parcel... Is there no other Shipping center that that's closer to downtown? That's really inconvenient, if I have to go to get my parcel at Lachine all the time I will not buy online and have it send by Purolator anymore. One star on five for now, I hope I can get help from Purolator and change the rating.

I waited outside from 9 AM to 1PM (4 hours!)and to my surprise the tracking was updated saying an appointment has to be made for a rescheduled delivery at 1:03pm. I was outside the whole time and never even saw the truck drive by! Mind you this is the day i'm moving into my new apartment so there's no buzzer and I waited out of courtesy to help the courier carry in this dresser (112 lbs). I called Purolator to ask about this and customer rep was sympathetic and also unsure why the truck didn't even show up. He made a note of it and sent a message to this depot to ask them to call me to schedule a smaller delivery window. Guess what? They never called me.

So I guess I'm going to have to wait again, but I won't be surprised if they no show once more. In the future, I will be requesting the merchant I made this purchase from use a different courier at my expense. This is complete nonsense and a waste of my time. The other reviews seem to be in line with what I'm experiencing. I'm not sure why Purolator appears to not have done anything to fix things at this depot

So I, like many of the other reviewers on this website, had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this dreadful company.

After ordering a few items from an online shop Sunday evening, I was notified by email that my parcel would be shipped and delivered within 48 hours. I verified this information early Tuesday morning, by looking up my parcel's tracking number.

The Purolator website said that my parcel had been brought into a "sorting station" and that it would be delivered to me before the end of the day. So I waited around my apartment for the next few hours, wanting to intercept the package as it was delivered.

Nothing came.

I looked at the parcel's tracking information again. This time it said that "delivery was attempted and a notice was left at 11am".

This was an OUTRIGHT LIE. I had been waiting for the package from 8am-12noon and there had certainly not been any attempt to deliver my parcel to me. The Purolator truck DIDN'T EVEN COME DOWN MY STREET. And, quite obviously, because of this there was no "delivery notice".

Initially I was frustrated and confused but I chose to assume that this was an honest mistake on their end...only to read the reviews here and see that THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME (and has been happening for years!!). Now they're telling me that I have to go to their depot to receive my package--being a full-time student, I live north of the city and do not have access to a vehicle. I'm also very busy on most days so now I have to somehow arrange to go to LACHINE on my own time before this coming Monday, or I will never receive my parcel.

I must say, I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED by this blatant lack of service and will NEVER have anything delivered through Purolator again!!

Hello LIIZ,

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent experience with Purolator. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I would like to follow up with the local driver who attempted the delivery. Would it be possible to send the tracking # to customer.care@purolator.com? We can also arrange a second delivery attempt or a transfer to another Shipping Agent or Shipping Centre if the Lachine location is not convenient.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks,

I've been using Purolator for quite sometime and had no problem with sending items to a new address when I was unavailable at the earlier shipping address.

Agent was very snappy and started raising her voice at me thinking that I am a dumb wit who never uses such delivery services.

The pick up warehouse is OUT of nowhere!

VOILA CA FAIT DEJA UN AN ET DEMI depuis ET ILS N'ONT JAMAIS RIEN FAIT POUR AMÉLIORER LEURS SERVICES DE LIVRAISON.

Purolator does not leave delivery notices in appartment buildings (where the mailboxes are usually accessable to the general public.) After missing their delivery and receiving an automated telephone call telling me where to pick up my pkg (inconvenient location and business hours) I called them and they happily arranged to redeliver my pkg to my place of work the next business day. I am very happy with the service.

I am writing this email as I am extremely frustrated and upset with the Purolator delivery service. I found this specific review site online, and found it to be extremely helpful and useful as this is not an isolated incident and it appears as though Purolator's delivery service is, and has always been, beyond horrendous.

I ordered a small fan via Tiger Direct and it had been shipped via Purolator. That was my first mistake, to have not fully recognized it was being shipped by this terrible delivery service, where in the past, I have also had excruciating problems with.

Now, this small item is being held at the Ville St Pierre depot, which is extremely out of the way and especially inaccessible via public transportation, which many people travel by. I am beyond upset and frustrated under the circumstances as I did NOT receive any sort of notification, no phone call and no knock on my door. I was home all day from early morning to late evening, however, the only thing I received was an automated voicemail message stating that I can go and pick it up at the depot. This is intolerable service and I'm quite furious that I, along with many others, have had this direct issue with the delivery service.

I read in one of the reviews that it was stated there was the option of having the item redelivered to the initial address. This is what I would like to do, however, the date that was given to me via the automated voicemail message is declaring that I only have until the 29th to pick my item up. It is Sunday, Jan. 27th, which leaves me a day to organize this and attempt to figure out how to solve this issue before I chance my item being returned. This is beyond stressful and ridiculous and no one should have to deal with this sort of poor, poor delivery service.

I am sending along my tracking number to the customer service email address so that if possible, you can provide any additional details and information as soon as possible.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

I ordered a product in regards to internet from an internet server, and they told me I would receive the shipment on Monday. Instead, I didn't get any notification of the shipment at all that day. I waited until the next day and still received nothing and called my internet provider.
They gave me a tracking number and turns out they never even came to my address! And I have to actually go pick it up.
I would never even have known this if I didn't call for the tracking number! You guys do not leave notice or anything. Nor did you even come to my door, it just went straight to the depot. For me, commuting there and back takes 2 hrs. I am a full time student with no vehicle, and you're asking me to travel entirely to this location in this cold weather for an hour back and forth just because one of your employees didn't do their job.
I have no internet at home right now, and it's a struggle for me everyday just to access my work. People's packages ARE IMPORTANT TO THEM. Please do not just carelessly disregard it...
I've had the same problem last year where the depot was literally impossible to get to by bus, and so I had to ask a relative. Cannot stress enough how inconsiderate this company is to their customers!
Please fire all those lazy employees of yours, and update your customers on their shipping info. And don't send it to a depot ridiculously far from the subject address! There's a Purolator depot like 10 min from my house, and you had to send it to LACHINE.
Baffled. Disappointed. Not looking forward to any future services from this company!

So I was waiting to receive a package from a site I ordered shoes from. I got an automated message on my phone giving me all the details and that I had until today to pick up my package, the only problem being that Purolator in Lachine is a bit out of my way. So today I called them, and the woman on the phone was very polite and understanding, as I told her I've been home all week and no one from Purolator has come to drop off my package. She was nice enough to look into it and is now going to get someone to drop it off to me tomorrow! Very impressed, especially after all the bad reviews I've read.

This is the worst company ever!!!! I can't believe they're still in business. I'm utterly disgusted and so so mad!
Can you imagine this: I called this */#$ people more than 5 times to have them tell me there are not sure if they are going to keep my shipment till next Saturday, the only day I'll be able to go pick it up.
They came to deliver last tuesday and of course wasn't home because at work. So I tell them there is no way I can be home before 5pm and I have no one to whom I can ask not to go to work but to wait in my house to receive my shipment. Now I ask them if they can come anytime after 5pm, and they go like no we can't. I told them to then return it to sender so i can ask the company to ship it via UPS this time. But no, they propose they can transfer it to another location that is usually opened on saturdays.
I then asked them to transfer my shipment from their anjou location which is not opened on week-ends to the one in St-Laurent, where I'll be able to go on saturday. They gave me a confirmation number for that request but imagine what? They DID NOT transfer it!
So this is me calling again on monday to inquire what happened: the representative told me he doesn't know why, but it wasn't done, but that he'll have it done. Tuesday morning I receive an email saying that my shipment cannot be delivered due to an incomplete address : are they serious??? I call them to have the agent tell me after 20 min that oh it's just a mistake. so I tell him I'll go pick it up on saturday, and he tells me he isn't sure if they're going to keep it till then.
I'm travelling next sunday and I need the things in that packet and this is what these mongols are telling me...
And please, if I forgot to mention, each time I tried to quietly explain my situation, the agents (especially the female ones) went annoyed and shouted at me!!
I can't believe this

If I didnt check my tracking number on the Purolator website I would have no idea if they tried to deliver my package or not. There was no notice left at my apartment, which seems to be an ongoing problem with your operations. It is very frustrating when you have no idea when your package will arrive, then on top of that if it did or not. Even in my tracking records it does not indicate that there was even a delivery attempt. Reading through this thread I am now unsure if the deliver guy even made an attempt to deliver the package as it seems they do poor job.
I also cannot make it to the Ville St. Pierre Depot because public transit takes over an hour there and seems as though it is a very complicated route, I am a full-time student athlete and have a part time job which doesnt leave me 3 hours in my day to waste on trekking out there.
Seems liks this company has many issues and I highly doubt I will ever personally choose to use this company, and will avoid companies that deliver using this service.

Hello ZM23,

I’m very sorry you had such a negative experience with us.

We don’t leave notices in public areas, such as the lobby of an apartment complex, for security reasons. When the phone number of the receiver is provided, an automated voice mail is sent the following day, with the shipment’s details.

We do offer alternate delivery options such as redelivery to the same address or having your shipment redirected to the retail center of your choice.

Please feel free to send me the tracking number at customer.care@purolator.com if you would like me to follow up on a particular shipment.

I noticed the online tracker said "scheduled delivery appointment required." I called to find out why, apparently the driver didn't know which buzzer was my apartment. My apartment is #301, the buzzer is #301. Not rocket science. Worse yet, nobody contacted me by phone or email. If I hadn't checked the tracking, I never would have even known.

I'm a full-time student and I work two jobs to make ends meet. I can't afford to take the time off to stay home, and even if I wanted to make the two hour bus trip each way to the depot, its hours mean I would have to miss work or school.

Canada Post will leave your parcel somewhere nearby to pick up. UPS can deliver Saturday or give a smaller window. Purolator is the only company with these ridiculous and awful policies.

I called in and the only solution they had was to put a note asking them to try to deliver before I leave for school on Monday, but even then they can't make any guarantees. I was so excited for these clothes, which I had saved up to buy, but now it looks like I won't even get them.

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE SERVICE. No business should use such a useless company.
