I have been shopping here for thirty years. I love the women who run this place and you can get fantastic clothes at very reasonable prices.

The only store I have bought consigned clothing at. I don't buy new anymore as I don't need to. I haven't consigned here though.....but if you've met Rose you know she's a bit of a different cat and is bubbly and full of personality. I am a Regular at the store and she has gone above and beyond to do some very nice things for me.

I don't know if I can adequately express the frustration that came with my dealings with this store. My clothing items were accepted and because I was going to be out of the country at the time my contract expired, arrangements were made for me to be able to pick up any articles that did not sell. Before I left town, I had a look at the paper that Rose, the owner, keeps track of each person's clothing on - She had my name and contact information but instead of itemizing each article of clothing, she had written 17 tops, 4 sweaters, 3 jackets, etc. This in itself struck me as highly unprofessional but she has after all, been in business for a long time so I didn't say anything. Which in hindsight, was a mistake. When I arrived back in town, I called to see when I could pick up a cheque and any articles that were unsold as per our agreement. oooopps. Gone. And Rose had no recall of any agreement to hold the articles. The contract had expired and clothes were gone. She told me I had a cheque coming for $31.00. And now it gets stranger....because I had just had knee surgery, it would be difficult for me to come to the store for my cheque and Rose made it clear that she never mails cheques. After explaining my situation, she very reluctantly agreed to mail out the cheque. A week later, Rose called me, identifying herself as Rose and said that she had put the cheque in the mail. Another week later I received it - the envelope was addressed to me but the cheque was made out to someone else. Same last name, different first name. When I called, Rose said this was impossible. "I never mail cheques" was her indignant response. But I had a Lofty Ladies cheque in hand, signed by Rose and just a week earlier had talked with her on the phone about it. She vehemently denied it, said she just got back from holidays and pretty much blamed it on the other woman who works there. And then she told me to just change the name on the cheque and put her initials there and deposit the cheque. I told her I was not going to do that. She said that I could just have the bank call her and she would tell them she was in agreement. sigh. Luckily for me, I have a sister with that name so I can deal with this without ever having to do business with this woman again. Consigner beware!

Not sure what all these other people are talking about but I was there to buy clothes not consign so maybe that's the difference.

I went for the first time yesterday after work and was shopping around, I didn't realize what her hours were so I was taking my time but she said not to rush and stayed half an hour late for me!

I found so many wonderful items of clothing and all at such a great deal. I would definitely recommend a visit.

All the reviews are consistent with my telephone experience; although I have had slightly better service when I showed up in person with several items cleaned, pressed and on hangers (no fold lines). Of course, she was abrupt and reprimanded me for bringing in items without warning. I apologized, reiterated that I only brought a few (all in excellent condition) and she was cordial and even amenable to me bringing more in but to phone first. That's where it fell apart. I haven't been able to talk to her long enough to get any answers to my questions. I am rating her slightly higher only because of my first f2f experience. Problem is . . . she is one of the only long-run businesses in this field around here. I found another consignment store with the same disposition on the telephone and worse f2f.

i totally agree with the two previous reviews. i just called in to ask about consignment, and the lady never gave me a chance to fully understand how it all worked, and she hung up on while i was in mid sentence!

Listen to the first comment, this person is correct. I called Rose at Lofty Ladies for consignment information today, and she was eating while talking on the phone to me and expressed her biggest concern was that my clothes would be creased from having been folded. I have since decided to consign elsewhere.

I would give a 0 if I could! The owner is not nice at all, she doesn't take her time to talk to you about consignment. She will cut you off and then tell you "goodbye" and hang up! I will not consign at this store because of the service I have received on the phone today with this woman.

When I first called she said "hang on" while she talked to someone about her dog. She didn't ask if I could hang on, just said "hang on"..didn't even say please. This lady has NO manners and is a disgrace to her business.
