Con$ign-iT!, Coquitlam Reviews (15)
They have great items at great prices, they used to have way too much crap in every nook and cranny before and it was kind of a headache to walk around in but now it's not so crowded and airy and more welcoming! The staff, a woman and her mother are so great and fun to chat with! I love going there and I keep an eye on their website on a daily basis as well as their facebook page because great items come and go so fast I don't ever want to miss out lol !!
I do not find the staff proffesional at all. They took my items told me it will not sell in the store but they will donate it to some charity of my choice, yet a few days later they had forsale in the store at quite a large amount. Not very fair at all.Whether they sold it or not I really have no idea. Not friendly or aproachable at all.
I too bring my plastic bags here for re-cycling! I am very happy they don't contribute to the land fill! I wish more business were more concerned about that!!
Yes, a little crowded now -but still great stuff and great prices!
I have always found the management and staff to be most helpful!
Keep up the good work - we need more place's like this!

This store has so many neat and quality items... many of which have found their way into my home :)
I love the music and feel of the store - lots of old crooners and not much of the TOP 40 you hear everywhere else. This is not your average store.
As for a comment left before regarding plastic bags - I bring my plastic bags here all the time and I think we should have more green businesses in the community that work hard not to create extra waste.

THE SHOP HAS DEFINATELY DOWNSIZED SINCE IT FIRST OPENED, BUT IT IS STILL THE SAME, WITH THE SAME MOM AND DAUGHTER TEAM , AND AN UNUSUAL TREASURE CAN STILL BE FOUND ! THEY DO PAY FAIRLY FOR ITEMS THAT ARE SOLD ON CONSIGNMENT AND SEEM TO BE VERY BUSY STILL ON WEEKENDS
I can't say what has happened to this store. There is no ambiance anymore. I moved back to Coquitlam after living in Europe for 3 years. Was I in for a rude awakening!!!! There was such a nice lady working there when I left, the old one is back there again. She obviously took her great talents elsewhere, sometimes her sister would work there too. It was a treat and often hilarious listening to them carry on.
The store has decreased by two thirds!
It has an awfull smell, like a dusty thrift store!
3 years ago this was one of my favorite stores, I shopped here at least once or twice a week. Then I would not hesitate to give consign-it a five star rating, now 1 star is a hard one!Maybe they should take those dated paper signs that are stuck up all over the place, give the place a thorough cleaning, and try talking to customers........NICELY. BTW as business owners you should have your own bags and or wrap, not have signs begging for that too. It does cost money to run a business, after all being a consignment store you don't even have to pay for store stock. I would chalk this up to bad managment skills.

fun to check out this home decor consignment store. they always get unusual peices in . worth every visit, i have consigned items here beforeand never had any problems
Fine for buyers, but sellers beware:
The items they'll accept are subject to the approval of whatever employee happens to be working when you arrive. If she doesn't like it, it's rejected. One item was accepted, then later pulled off the shelf after it was slightly damaged in-store. And yet, I noted other items in the store that were slightly damaged and left on the shelf.
You have to make a list of your belongings because they won't. If you forget to list something, too bad.
They don't tell you what prices they'll put on your items. You have to return to the store and see that for yourself.
You have to trust that it sold for what they claim it sold for.
At the end of your contract, you have to find and gather the unsold items from around the store yourself. If you can't find something, it's presumed stolen. When I described my missing item, the owner claimed she'd never seen it. I believe her, based on the rather loose way things work around there. Was it shoplifted? Was it hopelessly broken and thrown out? Was it valuable and sold elsewhere? Who knows?
For sellers, there is no accountability and no apologies so I can't recommend them. If you're going to use them, make sure you do your own research about what things are worth. If there's anything remotely valuable, sell it yourself.
If you're interested in buying used items, they're fine. Pretty good prices and usually a good selection.

I find this store so funny....the daughter and mother certainly work together to make u feel uncomfortable. I have had many dealing with them. ie; being scolded like a child for not having my contract # and having to look up my account under my name lol...i really made them work haha another time my daughter (10) was scolded - again - for taking two lemon drop candies that were on the table - my god - just let it go - cost of doing business. they are also pretty snooty when they don't like the item. just say you dont like it ...no attitude ...oh and dont be late or you will get yelled at...
I used to love this consignment store, but now the items are so jam packed together, that it's hard to move through the store. Too many junkie items like a thrift store or garage sale. Staff is great, but they should pick and choose better items to consign.
I have been shopping at this store and also consigning at this store for many, many years. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I have nothing but high praises for the mother and daughter and the staff who run this store.
a good shop to frequent if you are looking for unusual antiques.[ they can be found] . the daughter will always greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome in the store. the drawback is the lack of parking
Very nice, high quality items, warm atmosphere. Will be a regular shopper at this store!!
Why is this review in here? It is not conignit furniture. That review is for a clothing store???????
i really like to check into this consignment home furnishing store weekly to see what i can find unusual for my home. it can be hit and miss like most consignment stores, but worth the visit
If you bring something in for Consignment read the fine print on their contract. They sold my piece of furniture and I never got my money for it. After a certain period I renewed my contract and stopped in every week after that till I seen my piece sold. When I ask them about it they told me I had not stopped in and let them know I was still around...when they seen me every week go through their store. You have to verbally say here I am with your contract number. The older lady that owns the store would not move an inch when this happened to me...it's almost like they hope you don't read the fine print. They knew me and seen me every week, but no way would they budge. I asked her kindly what they got for it but she would not even show me on their computer how much they got for it. Due to this bad customer service...I will never show up at their store again.
