Dr. Shelyan completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience at UCLA and then moved to New York City to obtain his Doctorate in Dental Surgery at New York University. After an extensive training in general and cosmetic dentistry at NYU and an exciting life in Manhattan, he and his wife decided to move back home to Los Angeles. He believes that it is possible to have a comfortable and pleasant dental visit and the key is to simply reduce any fear and anxiety there is by using soft music, aromatic candles, and relaxation techniques and/or anti-anxiety medication. Dr. Shelyan assures his patients’ comfort from the moment they come into the office until the end of the dental treatment by using various relaxation techniques to ensure a pleasant visit at his office. He believes that anyone at any age should have healthy teeth and a beautiful smile and makes his patients feel good about themselves regardless of their teeth and gum conditions. Dr. Shelyan is an expert at listening to his patients and their concerns and together with the patient, they plan a dental treatment which best benefits the patient’s oral health. He has always been interested in the artistic aspect of his career which is Cosmetic Dentistry.
