I have been going to the Whitby Fabricland for many years. Don't think I will continue. The staff have never been overly helpful...but they've been ok, generally.

There are definitely some staff who barely tolerate you as they cut your fabric! I've even been there when 2 staff members were fighting and giving each other the silent treatment. Ridiculous to have all kinds of drama from staff!!!

Recently, I was purchasing 2 meters from one bolt of fabric. Wanted it cut into two pieces, one meter each.

Before the words were out of my mouth, I was told they can't do specialty cuts! Really??? That's a specialty cut??? Then the staff member started interacting with the customer behind me. She was commenting about how this customer was in the store "all the time", and acted like this was annoying her that the customer was there "all the time". WHat the...????? Don't you want customers there???

Very, very disappointing customer service for a long time customer, from what I thought was one of the "better" staff members.

Smarten up Whitby Fabricland staff! There are other options to purchase fabric.

Visited the Kendalwood location yesterday and received such terrible service I just had to write a review here. To be honest, I have only once felt welcome in that store. Every other time (and this has gone back almost 15 years) I am not acknowledged when I enter or am roaming the store, I often need to track someone down to measure and cut my fabric, and feel like it's a hassle for the person at the cash to check out my purchases.

Yesterday, I walked in and picked out my fabrics, brought them to be measured and cut. The girl who helped me did not make eye contact or smile even once and was very huffy the whole time. When I tried to pay for my items, I showed my loyalty card AFTER the cashier had entered everything into the register. Bad move on my part, apparently. "You need to show that card when your fabric is cut NOT after I've rung everything through," is what I was rudely told but not before I insisted I get whatever discount I should have received. Unfortunately, I was never made aware of this (I had only used the card once before, and this was when I was first signed up for it) and do not think it should be assumed every customer knows this. The whole experience left me feeling like every time I go in to this particular location I am just being a pain in the ass. I refuse to deal with crusty women and will be seeking out new fabric stores or purchasing online going forward.

If you decide to go in, just beware that you will not be treated well.

I don't normally take the time to write anything but I have been in the Dundas location a total of 5 times (because it is close to my home) and the staff is just CONSISTENTLY rude and definitely not eager to help or answer extended questions!! Ajax Fabricland is totally a different story!

Ever since this Fabricland has been here, it has been an outstanding store in every respect but particularly in the area of customer service ! It has always had exceptional variety of stock & custom services for those who wish to commission custom window treatments. They also provide classes and helpful, knowledgable staff for beginners as well:)
