Not a very good restaurant. Poor quality of food. Slow service.
We just went to boondocks tonight for supper. The service was fast the food was good. No complaints at all what a great little location. Will go again.
Don't even bother.
This is a shame for a restaurant at such a great location with a nice deck on the Eastern passage.
We went there for Sunday night dinner at 6pm, my husband and I, we were also meeting friends there an hour later but decided to go early to enjoy the good weather.
Although the restaurant was only half filled we waited at the door for over 15 minutes with a line up because the greeter was MIA.
Finally we say we want to sit outside and instead of seating us, they hand us menus and tell us to seat ourselves.
We sat outside and waited for service for over 20 minutes, nothing, another group had to go inside to request service, we flagged down someone and asked for service.
Us and the other table being ignored were being served by different servers so it was not the particular waiter/waitress.
Finally someone shows up to take our drink orders, disappears. Walks by us several times. We literally wait another half hour.
Literally one full hour of no service/no drinks, we finally say to heck with this and leave.
At the same time our friends pull in, and all 6 of us go to Celtic corners instead, which has excellent service and was half the price of the items on the menu at Boondocks.
This was sincerely the worst restaurant experience of my life, EVER. The staff was not friendly/incompetent.
Don't waste your money.

The service was great but the food was not good at all,I was with a party of about 45 people and most everyone who had seafood was very disappointed.Cold ,tasteless.
My very first time in Nova Scotia, have to go do something very typical for this place. From advice of my friends i decided to go for a lobster sandwich since the weather was typically fogy and cold on early spring day. What a better place to go than a fishing village near Halifax (since that was my destination).
Out of town we go, through the surrounding nature right into the first village. Atmosphere just like out of a movie, sound and visuall effects come to life ... LOVE IT!!!
We found Boondocks. Cute little place, decorated at the time with easter bunnies (i could do without), right on a water in a small village. Visibility is about 40 meters at the time. I order glass of Nova Scotia white wine, order lobster sandwich and enjoy the time.
HUGE SANDWICH comes on a plate, looking realy good and quite tasty, even though i was told this was NOT the time for lobsters, i was about 3 weeks early before the season. I don't mind, i am having my wine!! it was tasty. Also the special of the day some penne pasta with cream tarragon sauce, mushrooms & scallops was delish.
Good time to get to know your what may be my brother-inlaw. (so he calledhimself cuz he didn't wanna let me pay for the bill)
