Shady…. Worst company I ever dealt with. I bought a mini crib on December 15, 2024. It says FREE shipping when checking out. 4 days later they send me an email saying it’s $70+ tax for shipping. I contacted them and they say it’s in their shipping policy. I was so mad that it wasn’t displayed, I felt like they were ripping me off, by putting me on the spot. I refused to pay for the shipping and had my daughter and husband go pick it up…. 45 min drive. The service was slow and brutal and the people there were rude and had bad attitude. I will never use this company again.., I don’t trust them or like their cheap shady practices…
My order was DBB254416

Being first time parents we are clueless. We visited a few stores to research what we need and this store had the most knowledgable staff by far! Not some 21 year old kids who are just out of school.
The associate took their time with us explaining furniture and car seats, and another person went over a must have shopping list with us showing us many different products. WhT I found is they really took their time with us and there was no pressure to buy right then.
For that reason we will be returning when we are ready to purchase.
Thank you Dearborn baby!!!!

I ordered an uppa baby stroller on a 15% sale that a number of stores in Toronto were having on May 2, 2016. Upon ordering I was told to expect my delivery within a week. In a week I received a t/c from Dear-Born baby informing me that the stroller delivery is delayed by 2 months and I will get it by first week of July. As my baby wasn't due before then I was fine with this. Yesterday I called to check the status (June 28, 2016) and I was told that the shipment was further delayed until an unknown date in August. I was informed that Dear Born baby is helpless and this is due to delays on uppa baby part. When I initially discussed cancelling the order I was told all stores are facing the same issue. I called around stores such as snugglebugz, bbbuggy and babyland and all informed me they could have the stroller delivered to me in a few days. I called uppa baby and was informed that there are NO delays in distribution. Now I have to buy the stroller at full price. Appalled at service, treatment and dishonest information provided by Dear Born Baby which is causing me hundreds of dollars.

This store is totaly waste of time.Avoid this store if you can. Sales Associate is very pushy and to eager to get you into baby registry and to sell you their expensive furniture. Prices is very expensive ,products are old and dirty most especially in toys and baby bottles are old packaging . This store is not worth it to drive and spend time. Better go somewhere else . Google more reviews in this store and you will see what I'm talking about. Also their return policy is SUCKS. If you buy a product that is on sale your $$ is stuck in their store credit or exchange, no money back while other baby store offers refund. Customers that wanted to buy baby stuff from this store I strongly suggest to read more reviews .

I bought a couple of things online, but when they arrived one of them was not what I expected so I emailed and asked specifically for a"return" of the item, was told I had to come to store to return it and exchange it for another in 30 days. So I waited for a convenient time to drive across town to Doncaster avenue only to be told I had to come within 7 days of my order to get a refund! I had to get a credit for the store that can only be used instore for a store I have no intention of shopping at or referring anyone to ever! My opinion is don't even order online as it then costs you to return anything

Was just at the store yesterday to pick up baby swing which was available on line and it was last item on the floor which I was told by the phone to come and pick it up and when we arrived at the store(with my 3weeks baby and toddler) service is awful, couldn't find my item and they still think it wasn't sold out but might be misplaced! This is after it was checked on the phone and verified by their associate. I asked for the manager and was told she was busy and I still said I will wait and after half hour waiting the manager was no help and she wasn't even going to accommodate with another swing I like in the store and simply told she can't change the price and also with my item she can't find it and she is sorry! Really! Left with disappointment and will never go back and wish I read the reviews before I went !

I chose to purchase everything for my new born as well as do my registry through DearBorn. I realized almost immediately that this was a HUGE mistake as they offer terrible customer service! There are a couple of people that work in the store that are amazing with product knowledge, but everyone else is clueless and upper management seems to not care at all about service and customer retention. I will no longer be giving them my business and will be heading to other local and online retailers instead.

I live in the west end of Toronto and made the drive to Dearborn after a friend recommended it.
I was really impressed with how many instore specials they had and it was definitely worth the drive
Picked up our car seat, baby carrier and lots of cute items I've never seen at babies r us. Great products. And unique baby stuff.

I set up my baby registry here with the help of their specialist and was really happy the service and knowledge they offered.
They had everything I needed in one store and wonderful selection to choose from.
Free delivery too. Pleased to find this store!! Will recommend to friends. Thank you for everything.

I am probably one of the lowest maintenance customers a store can have and really don't demand or expect any type of 'service'. But really, is it too much to ask to be thanked for making a purchase? The cashier made me feel like she was doing me a favor for letting me spend money at the store. A simple thank you please come again would have sufficed. Its called good manners!

Despite reading some neg reviews i decided to visit the store as I'm expecting my first baby. The selection is much better than other stores I've checked out and the prices are great too!! I wanted to purchase a diaper pail that was on sale at babies r us and Dearborn offered to price match the sale price.
I had 3 different people helping me throughout my hour i spent there and they were all so nice and helpful.
I can only think that people are quick to complain and write bad reviews but when people get great service they dont write reviews.
I dont usually write reviews but wanted to share my great experience with other new moms out there! !!
Definitely worth the visit!!!

This business is awful! I ordered an item, and they simply sent another item without consulting me.--meaning that I have to give a random item to the expectant mother at her baby shower this weekend. They told me that the intended item was out of stock, and so they had sent another item--which would not have been a problem at all, I simply would have ordered anything else from the registry! BUT this isn't how online shopping works--you don't just randomly pick which item gets sent to the purchaser!
Now I have to ask an expectant mother to exchange an item, because the store sent the wrong item, or exchange it before noon tomorrow (which is simply impossible). I put thought into the order, and bought according to her color scheme, and now I have a random blue blanket for an all-grey nursery. She might not be having a boy, which makes it even more ridiculous.
Most importantly, the "customer service" was absolutely useless. They simply repeated that the mother can return the item--which, I can't imagine an 8 month pregnant woman would choose to do!
Utterly shameful. SO disappointed.

This store has the best selection of baby stuff!!! Half the store is a funiture gallery with cribs and gliders, with so many different styles to choose from. It was hard to decide. The stroller section has at least 50 different types of strollers, i couldn't decide between a Peg, Uppababy or City Select and the staff there were very helpful in explaining the differences of each. I ended buying the city select and a peg car seat, and love it!!!!
Will defintely be coming back and recommend this stores to friends.

Wish I had read reviews before wasting my time. I purchased 2 peg perego car seats over the phone and was told that installation is free and because i was purchasing for my twins I would get a discount. 45 minutes later, they finally transfer me to book the installation and tell me I would have to pay for it! Seriously? Get your shit together! Then the transfer me to the customer service manager who doesn't know my names, is short with me, and I told her I don't have time for this and I have to go feed my kids and she says she doesn't have time to deal with me! Wow, so unprofessional. Lady, you don't know who I am but you messed with the wrong person! goodbye lots of future business!

Just had a great experience at Dearborn. The customer service is amazing. They agreed to do a refund for us on something they don't normally refund. Luba the manager was very accompdating. They have the biggest selection and the best prices. Also we love their online store where you can have everything delivered.

I ordered a Graco Tot Block Pack N Play on line. I inadvertently clicked that I would pick it up, when I actually wanted it delivered.
When I called re the status of my order, Todd was very helpful. I was going away for a week, so Todd suggested I call back when I returned home. I did this, and 3 days later, the playpen was delivered by Canada Post to my home which is north of Guelph.
I was very pleased with the service.

I had a very good experience shopping for furniture and my stroller and car seat at Dearborn. The gentleman who helped me with furniture was very knowledgable and explained to me the differences in wood, where the cribs are made, etc...

The stroller staff were EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGABLE and demonstrated each of the strollers i was looking at, explained the differences... the weight, features, how they close, etc... The staff there really know their stuff!!!

At the end, i even got a $50 coupon for a photography studio and the guys in the warehouse loaded my car up with my purchases.

Could not have asked for a better experience.

me and my friends all know this store, we all shopped there. I am also the host of a Facebook 'Toronto Mommies' group and we spoke about the horrible service at this place a few times and all seem to agree on one this: this is a store will a good selection but horrible, non-existing customer service. their attitude is very condescending so if I can avoid shopping there, I would and I did take my business elsewhere more that once to avoid dealing with them. Overall they lost the sale of a Stokke Stroller, Car Seat and tons of accessories. That's is 1000s of $$ in sales, my friends did the same and I am spreading the word. I really hope that they bear enough losses to start considering offering better service even if this calls for firing half or more of the staff. They also need to rethink their nearly non-existing warranty and after-sale service. Right now, it makes you feel very used.
First time I came in there I was preggo and the store had about 20 people there, boy was it cramped! I could barely walk in and when I did I couldn't breathe so I walked out pissed without buying anything. Boy, they are really saving $$$ on store space. By far this is the most cramped up store I have ever seen. I had to come back tuesday in the morning just to be able to walk through it. when I did, i dropped a few items on the floor with my purse (that cramped, go there and see for yourself) and got a dirty look from the older lady employee picking them up. Then I went to the Stokke strollers and couldn't get anyone to show it to me. A younger girl approached that started to tell me all about how much she hates working for this place (?!) and then went to give me wrong info about the stroller - which ended up in me going to Concord Baby and buying my Stokke Xplory there for cheaper and with much less drama.
We registered a baby registry there and ended up buying the big items there - furniture and a few extras. I also bought a Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag there. I wanted to return next day, called and spoke to the black/indian girl at the front and got some massive attitude about wanting to return the bag. I told her that 1. I bought it less than 24 hours ago 2. I am still preggo and could not have used it 3. they have a 7 day return policy and I am well within it. She put me on hold a few times and then said I have to bring the bag in the store and she'll take a look at it and then decide if to take it back or not. I was not about to drive from Newmarket for some drama, so I called Petunia head office. They exchanged everything, paid for the shipping and I was buying from them since then. It is also $10 cheaper online, I believe.
As for the warranty, it is 7 DAYS ORIGINAL PACKAGING and RECEIPT. Are you kidding me? Toys R Us will take back after 35 days and beyond (the will just give you store credit). Considering that most people buy it for gifts and might open it a bit later, you are really out of luck if u got something for your baby shower from them. That is why even though I had a registry with them, I asked all of my gifts to be given to me from Toys R Us, Sears on online vendors I recommended.
One time I did decide to return a pair of $15 (or less) of swimming shorts to them. It was withint he 7 day limit, with receipt and clearly unopened. The black lady once more gave me the attitude, asking me what's wrong with the product and then taking it back with attitude. Try to return something to the store? good luck with that.
They also try to sell you opened boxes of stuff at the same time telling you at cash register that u cannot return opened items. What is up with that? I had a few arguments with them over this but they do not really seem to care. So I took my business elsewhere and buy there only as a last resort.
So we bought a $1,000 crib, a $1000 change table and a $950 glider from them. all good products well priced. They were late shipping us the crib and change table, but they did warn us it might happen well in advance so I didn't have an issue with it.
our salesperson was Brian (a bald guy around his 50s) i really liked his service, no problems there. The woman at the order desk was Michelle (I think) a pretty bigger girl - she was all smiles and great service overall. But besides those 2 people everybody is either OK or plain rude. Tops them all is the black girl and the older lady working at the floor (straight hair) - they must be related to the owner or something because they really acts like they couldn't care less if you are satisfied or not. The black girl is dressed all classy and stuff but she chews gum with her mouth open right in your face. I think I have noticed that every single time I come in. I really hope they put her in the back room or something because I really dread going to pay for something at the register. and I know I am not the only one...
They do have a fairly good selection but I now buy stuff I have seen there online. Their service needs some serious work!

I agree that this store has almost everything you need for baby..
However, watch out their terrible after customer service. Once you paid, they do not care the after service.. We bought about $4,000 amount of baby funitures 3 months ago with promising delivery date within my due date. however they told us a few weeks ago that they only can deliver by 4monts later!! which is 1month after my due date so we had to end up buying another temporary crib for the waiting time till furniture to be delivered.

I understand that sometimes production delay could happen but the way of their customer service attitude to me was unacceptable. Very rude... I felt like almost insulted.
After spending more than $7,000 in this store..... this is their customer service I can get.. Sucks! If I knew how bad their service is, I would've never bought anything from there.
I will never go back this store and will never encourage anyone I know to shop this store.

Buyers BEWARE!!!
I purchase Britax infant car seat, when it was delivered the car seat manufacturing date was 2010 (I ordered in October 2012) I called dear born baby to talk about this, I got the run around with very incorrect information. 3 people at dear born baby stated that manufacturing dates do NOT start until the car seats are opened and installed. I called the police to ask about tickets/fine for using an expired car seat (by manufacturing dates) they stated they would give the person driving the car a ticket/fine no questions asked, also manufacturing dates are put on children's car seats to keep them safe. I then called Britax they had stated that manufacturing dates need to be followed, the date of manufacturing is the first day of that car seats life span no matter when it was opened. After stated the facts to dear born baby and 6 days of headaches, they told me that i could drive to the store ( 1 1/2 hours from me) or pay all shipping costs for an exchange but they could not guarantee that i would receive a 2012 car seat

Absolutely the best baby store there is. The variety of brands and the stock is so wonderful.
We met with Stephan to pick a stroller and were in awe at how well he knew his stuff. Not only did he know ratings and upcoming information about their stock but he even knew about brands they didn't carry and why. He in no way rushed us or pushed us towards anything and it was a busy Sunday.
Every department we went to had someone ready and willing to help us, it was great customer service.
So pleased with our purchases!

Worst store ever. Bad service. No phone calls being returned. No promises being kept. I bough furniture and was promised to get it in 3-4 weeks, it's been more than 3 months and we still don't have furniture. I can't even give them 1 star. Shame on manager. You need to start working.
