Starbucks Coffee, Toronto Reviews (3)
This Starbucks is so inadequate and lack competent staffs. I went in to get a gift care for my friend's birthday and I watched one cashier taking 5 minutes just to scan one bag of coffee. The two cashiers were busy fixing their mistakes and another customers was also frustrated because one of the two cashiers was very confusing and extremely slow and messed up his giftcards. I waited in line for my turn and when it was my turn, I asked her for a specific amount of 30$ towards the giftcard. She had to ask me twice after i told her the exact amount. I feel like the staff was very inadequate and incompetent as it was not busy AT ALL and they still took a longer than average time to process my order, which was only a giftcard. If it was any busier, their speed would slow down business and people, like me, would actually just walk away and leave and go to another coffee shop. Even after processing my gifcard, the cashier did not immediately give me an envelope for it and I had to ask. Please be more professional. THe most frustrating part is I was so patient and at the end they ran out of gift card envelopes... that shows poor inventory control. They said somebody had previously purchase 20 giftcards and that is why they ran out of envelope. Really?! the Whole store only had 20 envelopes. Whoever is doing the inventory ,or should be, really should just go back to school and learn how to do it properly. They did not offer any other type of resolution and I had to leave and walk away to another Starbucks shop asking for an envelope as it is a birthday giftcard and it looks horrible without an envelope. Whoever is in charge there should really get their act together and train their employees to be more professional, have better control of inventory, be speedy and learn how to actually use the cashier machines. Any other Starbucks I have been to is better than this one, this one particular store is just annoying.
I live near this Starbucks and have been going there for a Grande Bold (or two) almost every day for several years. My only complaint would be that some of the customers are messy and obnoxious, but I suppose this can be expected when you're so close to a university. The staff are great - they're friendly, and if they make a mistake they're quick to fix your order without complaining and without charging you for it.
This Starbucks is by far one of the worst that I have ever been to. I live right around the corner and venture this location often. It's not so much the drinks that are the problem, its the staff. They are always rude, unenthusiastic, full of attitude and probably hungover half the time. I am given attitude every time I go in there. It's like it's a prerequisite to be a angry brat to work there.
Starbucks is famous for their amazing drinks and equally amazing baristas. Every other starbucks in the city, even in "not so nice" areas, greet you as you come in are always smiling and overly friendly. College street is a landmark in this city and this Starbucks does not represent this street at all.
Fire them all and hire people who actually care and take pride in their job!!!!!!!!!
