I’m often asked what made me choose this profession, but really, it was the profession that chose me. I have a compassionate, non-judgmental personality and I’ve always been the person my friends and family would come to for comfort or guidance. Many clients have said they feel at ease with me and are able to open up about things they’ve never discussed in therapy before. For therapy to be successful, you need to engage yourself in the process and want to make lifelong changes a reality. The way I see things is best summed up by a Mary Engelbreit quote: “If you don’t like something, change it; if you can’t change it, change the way you think about it”.
