Deeply Disappointed by Service and Food Quality
This was our first time visiting Steak 44, and I was highly disappointed with our experience. I had been looking forward to dining here for months based on the five-star reviews, but our meal ended in utter disappointment.
When you pay close to $500 for two people, you expect top-notch service and food unfortunately, that’s not what we received. My husband ordered the butcher’s cut of Wagyu medium, but it arrived rare (maybe medium-rare) and even contained bone shards. My lamb, ordered medium, also came out rare and with a side of asparagus I did not order (I had requested spinach).
When I mentioned the mistake, I was told they could “fix it.” I didn’t realize that meant they would take my plate with sides to the back, reheat it to 500 degrees, and return the *same food* on the *same plate.* That’s completely unsanitary. Meanwhile, my husband had to eat alone on his undercooked steak while I waited for my reheated meal.
To make matters worse, the manager, Blaze, showed no sense of customer service. When I mentioned the undercooked food and bone shards, he said, “that happens" and offered to reheat the old plate and bone shards, instead of apologizing. He offered dessert or prosecco to make up for the vegetable mix-up and undercooked food, even after I told him we don’t drink prosecco or eat dessert. I asked that he instead remove our drinks from the bill , which seemed fair, but he gave a smirk and walked away without confirming anything.
The waiter returned only to say the vegetables were comped. I had to *ask* for Blaze to come back, and when he did, his attitude was dismissive and condescending. He stated they don’t comp food or drinks even after such a poor experience. After going back and forth, he finally said, “beyond my better judgment, I’ll take the drinks off,” snatched the receipt, and walked away.
At that point, I couldn’t help but wonder if his behavior was influenced by bias. I truly hope that’s not the case, but the lack of respect and dismissive attitude made me question whether we were being treated differently being a minority.
Our total was still over $400, and though I was appalled by the service, I still tipped 20% because I refuse to be labeled as “difficult.” I just want to be treated equally and with respect.
**0 stars for Blaze’s management and for the meal he failed to rectify.**

Ambiance & Decor: 5 stars – Luxury meets modern steakhouse. Dim lighting, light music, and the kind of vibe that makes you feel like your credit card should be wearing a tux.
Service: 5 stars – Friendly, professional, and somehow got us seated quickly on a Friday night. Valet was smooth too.
Food: 4.5 stars – Fantastic flavor, generous portions, maybe just a touch too much butter.
Drinks: 5 stars… The walnut old fashioned deserves its own applause.
Value / Overall: 4.5 stars – Pricey, yes. Worth it? Absolutely.
Final Score: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Steakhouse luxury done right so come hungry, bring a jacket, and maybe a second stomach.
Steak 44 in Scottsdale is the kind of place that makes you feel fancy the second you walk in. Low lighting, soft music, sleek everything; it’s luxury, but with personality. The staff couldn’t have been nicer, and we were seated fast even on a Friday, which felt like a small miracle. Valet parking made it even smoother.
Pro tip: it’s freezing inside. Like “wish I’d brought a throw blanket” cold. So if you’re in Arizona for the heat or someone who brings a sweater to the movies, consider yourself warned.
We split the bone-in 45-day dry-aged ribeye, which was fantastic. The flavor was perfection, but there was enough butter on that plate to open a French bakery. Still, I’d order it again, just maybe with an umbrella to handle the drizzle.
For appetizers, we asked for Chef Moroni’s potatoes, and wow was it the best decision of the night! Crispy, savory, and honestly better as a starter than as a steak side. The wedge salad (no bacon) was also a hit, and they even split it for us in the kitchen (A+ touch).
And let’s talk about that walnut old fashioned. Unexpectedly amazing. Smooth, nutty, a little sweet, and perfectly balanced. If you’re into cocktails that make you rethink your drink order, that’s the one.
All in all, Steak 44 delivers. Great food, flawless service, and an atmosphere that nails modern elegance without the pretentiousness. Definitely worth the splurge, and next time, I’m going straight for the wagyu.

What an incredible establishment. Blaise and his team delivered a red carpet customer experience for me and the food was beyond amazing. Definitely worth the trip from Denver!! Thanks again- I’ll be back soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Every time we go here are the service is amazing. No microaggressions just great food an exceptional service. Alex is out guy and he is amazing. Even the manager! You get what you pay for which means you will get damn good fresh food. I do not know much about the parking situation. It does look like a small lot. However, we have a Corvette so we use the valet... The boys in the valet are super sweet. So it's great service from start to finish up
This is the second time coming here and both times was our anniversary. They are absolutely top-notch Steakhouse, I highly recommend asking for Manny or Ricky these two young men give exquisite service. The food is incredible in the atmosphere is fabulous.
Had an amazing time, loved the friendliness and supportive service. We went for our 5th anniversary they were able to get an assortment of flowers made to surprise my wife along with decorating the table in a quieter area for a more romantic scene
Superb service and atmosphere! Excellent menu! Wine… appetizers, steak and sides are perfection! Delicious and not to be forgotten. Entire table enjoyed their meals.
Our entire dining experience was absolutely exquisite! From the moment we walked in, we were treated with such care and made to feel truly special. Everyone we encountered expressed their appreciation for our visit and was extremely polite. Patrick, our waiter, greeted us with a warm smile and demonstrated impressive knowledge of the menu. Kyle was wonderfully attentive, ensuring every detail was perfect. The food was outstanding, prepared with great care and attention to detail. Every member of the team went above and beyond in their service. We are so grateful to all of you for making our 41st wedding anniversary such a memorable and special celebration.
What a beautiful place to bring friends for a wonderful dinner! We lucked out with seating right next to the kitchen, but separated by a glass wall that kept the noise to a minimum. The steaks were perfect, as expected, and my rack of lamb was delicious even if they burned the bones to the point that several fell off. I would have liked a little more cream in the creamed spinach and the corn brulee was too sweet for me, even as everyone else likes them. Manny was a very good server, witty and interactive. Overall, we were all pleased with the experience.
Skip mastros and go here …… this is the place. Salad , apps, filet , sides are amazing. Mac and cheese , asparagus , mashed potatoes ALL AMAZING !! Do the tree of Beignets for desert
It’s off the menu so ask for it it’s one of the best deserts I have ever had in my life
Atmosphere is chic and modern so cool yet inviting and cozy
Must give a shot out to our amazing waitress Abigail. Abigail embody’s what every server should strive to be. She was the best server we have had in years. Kudos Abigail you KILLED IT !!!

We ate here while visiting in town. My wife and I came the prior year for our 25th wedding anniversary so we knew it was good.
Food and service was wonderful. I even got a call the next day to ensure our experience was great (nice touch).
Too often you eat out at fine dining establishments and have an average meal with average service. Steak 44 IS NOT that. Great food with impeccable service!
I will always eat here when returning to Scottsdale.

Second time here are again it was terrific. Oddly, we are not steak eaters buts we go because of the diversity of the menu and the attentiveness of the staff.
Every staff member we passed on the way to our table ( at least 10) greeted us. Not sure that has ever been our experience elsewhere. Amanda was great. Knowledgeable, personable and just the right amount of attentiveness. Not an inexpensive dinner but well worth it.

We came here with coworkers/colleagues for a business dinner. The service here is VERY professional and on-point, right from the very start by dropping your car off at the valet… Everyone was helpful, attentive, and polite. The first thing I noticed when walking in was their small, but incredible cellar, with bottles from the popular places like Caymus, but also some very special bottles, like Screaming Eagle (Though I’m not sure why all the bottles are standing up… are they sold that often?).
They have a decent by-the-glass wine list on the menu, as well as a nice basic bottle list there too. The food on the menu looked great, with many appealing starters and entrées, as well as a large list of beef done many ways.
We tried several things, from the calamari, burrata, pork belly, salad, multiple steaks, hassleback potato, and other sides, and even dessert and everything was great! The rub they put on the steak was great! Very flavorful, with a slight kick. All of the steaks were prepared perfectly too!
Overall, highly recommend making a reservation to come for dinner… This was a wonderful experience!

We were in town for the night and celebrated my birthday with dinner here. I am a huge ribeye fan and read that Steak 44 was amongst the best in the country. While the steak was ok, I was expecting it to be phenomenal. So that was disappointing. The service was ok as well. I also had sauteed spinach and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels were really good. My wife had the super food salad and a side of sweet potatoes. She loved the sweet potatoes. They gave me a complimentary dessert selection. I chose the blood orange sorbet, which was phenomenal. All in all, we would not choose to eat here again.
Our anniversary dinner at Steak 44 last night was nothing short of spectacular. The service was flawless, thanks in large part to our server Jordan, who suggested the crispy shrimp appetizer. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous serving size and incredible flavor. The oysters on the half shell were exceptionally fresh, and the Brussels sprouts, which the menu wisely recommends, were outstanding! Oscar and Isaac provided impeccable support, ensuring our water glasses remained full at all times. Manager Travis also took the time to check in on us, demonstrating a clear commitment to excellence. We highly recommend requesting Jordan as your server. Jordan, Travis, Isaac, and Oscar all deserve five stars.
First time to dine here and I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was! The food was phenomenal, service, atmosphere, music, and table. We sat at table 502 (best seat in the house). It was our 26 year anniversary and we felt like royalty. Before we were seated, everyone greeted us with a smile and a warm welcome! Our waiter, Nick, originally from England was so knowledgeable about the restaurant and was an absolute delight. The food carried on trays above the heads of waiters is so impressive and sanitary. The table which had a view into the kitchen was so cool and private. It felt like I was in a Goodfellas movie. I highly recommend the crispy shrimp as an appetizer and the vanilla cake desert (both were out of this world). Definitely a night to remember!!! We will be back and can't wait to share this place with our of out of town guests. I Recommend booking 6 weeks out if you want a good table and time. My new favorite place to dine!
The experience was awesome. We felt welcomed right from the valet, which was reasonably priced, under double digits on a Saturday night to our server. I would say that parking is very limited. The service was very good, the beat salad was tasty but the braised pork belly, Omgness!!! Yummy. Now I must mention that the steaks were melt in your mouth good. We had the fillet with truffle butter and the petite filet .The hasselback potatoes were an interesting twist as a side. We will definitely be back. The s'mores In a jar was quite sweet to top off a great dinner.
Had the most fabulous dinner last night. Three of us came in to celebrate a co-workers 12 year work anniversary. We were ushered to a very intimate booth looking over the kitchen. Then a manager brought over a beautiful bouquet of flowers to honor our friend. Thank you for all the little touches to make the night that much more memorable. Of course each course delectable and we left satisfied with every moment.
We chose Steak 44 for my father’s retirement celebration and I am very glad that we did! From the service to the food & atmosphere - all were top notch. Definitely a pricey meal but well worth it if you’re able. Parking lot was a bit of a struggle, so come a little early to accommodate for that.
Everyone who served us was amazing!! Last week, my fiancée and I went here after I proposed to her, and our engagement dinner was made incredibly special by everyone at Steak 44. Our server was Manny, and he and everyone else who served us made our night incredible from beginning to end. They were accommodating and the food was exceptional! This is the best steak gets, and the sides are phenomenal! They even checked back in the day after to ask how everything went. The attention to detail and kindness is unbeatable. Thank you to the staff at Steak 44, you all were wonderful!!! Excellent food, exceptional people, every single second was perfect!
Wonderful place, excellent staff, food & wine was amazing! 1000% recommend! Go with multiple apps, steak main and multiple sides to share.
This place does it right. One of the best restaurants in town (in any town for that matter) and one of the best steaks. This restaurant still gives that extra individual attention and care that the larger chains in town do not. You cannot go wrong with an order. The fish, steak, shellfish, and sides are all top notch. The place has a lively atmosphere and bar crowd as well. I really like that have unique items and specials including stone crabs that are generally hard to find. The one complaint I have is my server last week served an expresso martini and a chocolate martini and argued with me about it instead of simply taking it back and making it right. I do not complain much but when I do it is for legitimate reasons including because I received a drink I specifically did not want or order. The waitress was otherwise very attentive and friendly and that lapse in customer service appeared to be an anomaly that I have never experienced before. I will continue to frequent Steak 44 and hope that it continues to focus on food quality and customer service.
The ambiance is stellar! The service is great and the food is perfection. We really enjoyed our 20th wedding anniversary dinner. The staff left us an anniversary card at the table.
The hype is real - please read!
I love good quality food and have had this place on my list for a long time. There have been friends and family who have said so many amazing things about this place as well. Finally able to go, my friend and I selected bar seating because we like to interact with the bartenders. Because I’m writing this later than I planned, I forget the gentleman’s name (it was a nickname) but his service made our dining experience even better!
We had a couple bottles of wine (one on the “Interesting Reds” list) and both were wonderful. We started with the Crab and Avocado stack. It was very fresh and delicious, but I will say that the Beef Tartare stole the show for starters! I had never even tried it before and it melted in our mouths and had so much flavor! We each had a filet and it came out on a hot plate but both were cooked to perfection (mine medium rare and his rare) and each bite had me craving the next one! Again, the melt in your mouth aspect was real!
There were so many other things I wanted to try so I will definitely be back and can’t wait for my next meal here! Whether you’re looking for a date night, a place to celebrate a special occasion or you’re visiting from out of town, put Steak 44 on your list! The ambiance of the place, the service from each individual who worked there that we interacted with, the presentation of each dish….everything was a 5-star for me and will be for you as well!
