Family TIES (Training Information Emotional Support) is a statewide non-profit organization established in 2001 by parents of children with special health care needs including disabilities. Family TIES is the Nevada Family-to-Family Health Information Center which offers information, education, training, outreach and peer support at no cost to families of children and youth with special health care needs and the professionals who serve them. We work in partnership with families, professionals and the community to make child health programs, special needs children's programs, maternal health programs, services, and policies more family-centered and easily accessible. We offer one-to-one assistance to help families and individuals navigate complex health care and insurance systems; information and referrals to access non-medical community-based services; parent-to-parent emotional support and guidance in the medical decision-making process; resources for professionals on health programs, best practices, and policy.
