I had a furnace installed about 12 years ago. The exhaust pipe was not shielded from the elements outside and rain got into the interior. The repairman admitted it was their fault and a new furnace would be necessary. But after it was dried, the furnace fired up--and even though he told me I would likely have future issues, a new furnace was not installed. I received nothing but a cold shoulder. My calls were not returned. When the blower fan failed , I was told the warranty was expired. I had it repaired by another company but now something else has crapped out. Not impressed.

I took a morning off work to have some plumbing work done.we were told we were first on the call list and to be ready for the plumber to arrive around 8 am. When they had not arrived by 9:30 I called and was told they were just sticking the truck and would be out in 45 minutes. At 11:00 I called again and they told me they were still sourcing stick for the truck and they would be out in an hour. At 12:15 I called to cancel the service call. Any plumber that takes over 4 hours to find the parts needed to stick his truck is not doing plumbing work in my house. Don't waste your time with this company.

I had called about a leaking toilet which they had misstaken that i had said leaking hot water tank and when the young lady said it would cost about eleven fifty four or twelve thirty nine, I then wrote $11.54 or 12.39 on a note pad. I was told when the plumber was to arrive and so when he did he started working in the basement and was disconnecting the hot water tank. After a short time i realized that it was my toilet tank was the issue not hot water tank. He quickly fixed the problem and informed me the company had made a misstake so there would likely be a reduced charge. After talking to his bosses he was instructed to charge for diagnosis fees and full repair totalling $365.00 . I am an elderly person on my own and feel badly about being taking advantage of. please do not deal with Furnaceman or James Wall Plumbing(same company)

We had A James Wall plumber at our house to remove a clog from our toilet. The little chain had also broken in the bowl which allowed the toilet to lush when pushing the handle. They removed the toilet and removed the clog but didn't fix the chain because, "he didn't know it need to be fixed." Then he left a bucket full of all the debris from the sewer pipe on top of the bathroom counter next to our toothbrushes. Who does that? Really? I will have to throw out all of that as I could never allow my kids to use a toothbrush that was sitting next to a big bucket full of sewer remnants.

All this cost me $465.50.

Maybe if he fixed the $0.50 chain I wouldn't have been as livid as I am with this service call.

Oh, and maybe if he cleaned up after himself as well because nothing is better than feces on the bathroom floor. Horrible service. Never again.

Have used James Wall since the mid 80's. James is still active in the business even though I know it was sold to a large Toronto based firm. Last week my sump pump stopped working and when I called a very pleasant lady, Janice answered my call. She made me feel like the most important customer. Within an hour Allan was at my door. He diagnosed the problem and had me fixed up right away and stuck to his quote. No surprises. 5 star service all the way.

Called James Wall and had plumber at our house at 7:00am which was great. We had a problem with our sump pump not working and needed a new pump installed in our crawl space under our lower level walk out basement. He quoted me $1500.00 to do the job. When I asked him how long it would take to do the job he said less than 2 hours. I pointed out that this would be $750.00 an hour and he said that would be the charge. I had a different company come and do the exact same job for $150.00.

They arrived when they said they would. Another company (with red trucks) never showed and I called james Wall and they told me between 1 and 3 PM. They called at 1:15 and said the plumber was on his way.
The job was quite involved but he stuck to the quoted price and was cheerful and professional. He wore little blue shoe covers, used a drop sheet to put his tools on and left my kitchen cleaner than he found it. The plumber I had was named Allan.

When I called this company I had no heat and it was 4:45 PM on a Friday in January. The lady on the phone assured me they could get to my house and get me heat that same evening.
Within an hour the technician, Gerald called to say he was on the way. When he arrived he put covers on his shoes and diagnosed the problem. He had the part he needed with him, told me how much the repair would cost and proceeded to do the repair. When he was finished he explained what he had done. The next day the office lady followed up to make sure we were still warm. Great service by great people! THanks!

Our water tank went so I did some research online and decided James Wall had the most informative website and transparent information, so I was going to give my business to them. I was really disappointed however when I spoke to the receptionist on the other end. She had no knowledge of anything involving water heaters really; she couldn't answer any of my questions: what make are the water heaters you install? Does it have an energy star rating? Will the larger 50 gallon fit down my stairs? It was frustrating, even more so since she wasn't interested in finding out the information for me. I called another company, the receptionist answered all my questions so I went with them. All the effort put into recruiting potential customers is lost if the first person you speak with knows little of the services the company provides.

We had an emergency leak after midnight and called. Within 5 minutes a plumber, Allan called us back and within 45 minutes he was at the door. He told us the cost before he repaired the pipe.(it was in the kitchen ceiling). The repair was much more difficult than he thought but the price did not change.
We got a follow up call the next day to make sure everything was ok. These people know how to treat people!
