Nisby Home Renovations

We had the shingles to our house and garage replaced about 2 1/2 years ago. The job was well done from start to finish. A couple of days ago I was made aware that one roof vent from the house was missing. I phoned Jeff and as he was in the neighbourhood he came over in a few minutes. It was my understanding that there was no way of knowing when or why the vent came off. It was nowhere to be found. Within about one day (during a weekend) a new vent was put in place.

I was in desperate need of a new roof on my rental house. It was late November and most roofing companies told me they were wrapping up their services for the year. Nisby agreed to do the new roof. I met with Dwayne, who came to my place of employment so I did not have to miss any work time, and the job was completed that coming weekend. An amazing job was done. I will definitely keep Nisby in mind for any future reno's.

I had my garage roof replaced. They did it very quickly and left no trace, other than a new garage roof, of their being there. I have dealt with this family owned company for years and would recommend them without hesitation.

We hired Nisby to install 6 new windows in our home. They arrived with 5, then took 10 days and two phone calls to Jim ( manager ) before coming back with # 6. Poor installation of #6 caused it to bow and it was 3 weeks before they came back, window is now straight (we hope ) but very messy job applying the trim. Never again will I say a good word about Nisby. Jim is extremely RUDE and even hung up on me when I returned his call earlier this week. No supervision of contract workers.

We chose Nisby as we like to support local businesses and they are a business our family has been familiar with for years. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Beware. Jim, who is mentioned below is downright rude to the point of being threatening. He was happy to pick up our deposit, never saw him since. He does not return emails despite having read them. The contractor they chose to do our work was a lovely man who was simply not qualified to do the work. They messed up a lot but promised perfection. We believed them. Then Jim asked his employee to get a second payment which we paid but with some trepidation. 5 months later we are just finishing the nightmare. We must say the subcontractors were fantastic! Nisby a disaster! Sloppy work , poor communication, no supervision, didn't come at times of diffuculty, one month turned into 5 . Here is some of the fine workmanship.

Leaky Door, sub-par finish, and a litany of repairs are the reminders every day of our Window/Door replacement project. Any communication from Nisby Office has been rude/accusatory.......installed a scratched/dented storm door ..... photo is of our kitchen floor every time it rains even slightly. We will never recommend even getting a quote from this Company!

Talked to service manager {Jim} he was suppose to come out and never showed up. Never called to cancel or change appt. Just more great service by Nisby.

We had a window and doors installed by them - WORST SERVICE EVER! Constantly drop the ball, no one follows through on what they say they'll do, when you do talk with someone they're full of excuses and RUDE, including the owner who should be trying to make things right!
There is no compensation for time and energy spent chasing them around to do what you paid them to do, the calls you have to make, the stress they cause and the half assed install job that we were not and still aren't 100% satisfied with!
They left a huge mess outside our home, they damaged property and left without telling us, wrong hardware was installed on our doors and they left without saying anything probably thinking they could just pull the wool over our eyes.
Would NEVER recommended and would never use again!

Very satisfied with the work Nisby did on my home. I will recommend them to all of my friends and family.

Summer of 2014 we hired Nisbey for exterior coatings and soffits and eavestroughs, approx. $10,000 in work. There's not nearly enough space here to detail the nightmares that occurred getting the work done, which finally finished in October. There were a few small touch ups outstanding, however we agreed (foolishly) to pay the bill IN FULL with the understanding that come spring they would be tended to. Called them twice so far starting in April, its now mid June and they haven't even bothered to call back. This is quite simply the worst customer service, follow up and communication that I have ever experienced. How they are in business can only be explained one way..... the salesperson was great!

we had siding done. Keep promising to show up and never did. talked to the manger and after being yelled at and cursed at I sent an email to owner and instead of him dealing with it he had his manager call and his response was it was both of our faults. Guess they don't know who the customer is. The same as most business when kids take over it is never the same. I would never deal with them again

My family hired Nisby this past summer and although overall happy with the work, the workers were nice, we are also disappointed with certain aspects of work.

Little things like paint in some places looks rushed and sloppy. The guys that worked on our basement didn't put drop cloth in certain places, now we are left with paint stains when you come in our home.

A lot of calls had to be made because when the painters were to show up for work, they didn't. In fact, the main painter who was in charge came into our home one day smelling of alcohol, not very professional.

One sub-contractor who said he would come back and make it right and clean up the paint stains when you come into our home, in fact has not come back and we have given up on calling him.

Overall, our house is improved, but be aware you will have to make a lot of calls/emails because the reps don't always return calls, I would just say remember they are there to work for you, don't get caught up in the friendly smiles, get on them when they start to slack off.

If I could do it over again, I would have done more research, but I trusted the Nisby name/brand and I am disappointed.

We had 4 quotes for window replacement and Nisby was the lowest! One company came out for the estimate with no info or pics of their product ! Jon from Nisby was very helpful, informed and a pleasure to work with"
! He stood behind the company's products 100% and that ment a lot to us!
The installers were friendly , polite, knowledgable and helpful. They cleaned up after themselves and when the job was done there was no evidence they had been there other then our beautiful new windows!

i was extremely pleased with the workmanship and work ethic of your employees, Sean, Cody and Jordan. They were amazing in their attention to detail and a pleasure to work with. They answered any questions with professionalism. It is without hesitation that I would recommend you to my friends and have Nisby do further work for me.

After 4 years of internal renovations, it was time to rejuvenate the exterior, which was suffering years of neglect. Carefully considering our proposals, we chose Nisby for their experience, history, sales representation and last of all price. We did not want to deal with several companies - just one.
Nisby took care of the entire project from removal of old siding and stucco, insulation, siding, windows, front door and eave troughs.
After completion, we couldn't believe the transformation. Compliments from neighbours and passers-by were so frequent; we had trouble completing our front garden. I guess the ultimate justification for the improvements was the calls from reality agents asking us if we wanted to sell!!
Our house is exactly what we envisioned and has greatly enhanced our neighbourhood.

Still waiting to get the front Door Glass Replaced that was installed in 2011. Ultra poor service and no follow up.

Unreturned phone calls, delays, follow ups to ensure your project is underway is what my experience involved with this company culminating in property damage which the company will not return my calls about. The only thing they did quickly was charge me for the work. Absolutely terrible customer service and not worth the hassle to deal with this company. I would not recommend using this company if you care for your home.

If you want a good product but poor service, then Nisby Home Renovations is for you. Our windows were supposed to be installed within 4 to 8 weeks. They were all installed 17 weeks later. My wife and I had to call Nisby numerous times to try to get an update on our windows. Our salesperson was quick in writing the order but did not have enough customer service courtesy or just did not care enough to keep us aprised of our window status. I would never use Nisby Home Renovations again for any of my home renovations projects.

This summer we hired Nisby to insulate and side the exterior walls of our home and garage. We liked the product they offered (over others) and that they are an established company in Winnipeg. This to us justified paying their higher price. We signed the deal confident our experience with this company would be worry free but as things got started, work progressed at a sporadic pace and proved to be of random quality. Although they dealt with the discrepancies we pointed out, their re-work/repairs could have been avoided because much of it was due to inattentiveness and haste. Many phone calls were required to discuss discrepancies as well as when, after unexplained absences, work would continue. Now that the job is done, the final product looks great but we did not expect such an effort on our part to ensure that the job was done right
