Last summer was a waste trying unsuccessfully to obtain a security camera system with a NVR for my home. I am still awaiting a reply from Swann and Lorex collectively has their heads up their nether regions. After many hours of research I decided upon a Hikvision security camera system and reached out to Hikvision thru their website. They hooked me up with Security Depot here in Calgary and my initial contact was with Duncan. Due to a personal injury the install and setup of my security system was delayed 6 weeks; which translated into a password issue with 3 of my 6 cameras. Duncan and Iain both responded, followed up and even escalated to a Hikvision Engineer – Darrell. All 3 of these gentlemen were EXCELLENT to work with! They replied to my E-Mail’s and calls (HELLO SWANN???), Darrell even going as far as offering to come to my place on a Sunday to resolve my issues. As it turned out, Darrell worked with me over the phone and thru remote control on a Monday evening for well over 3 hours; the final result being that I now have my security camera system in place and working perfectly. Darrell has an outstanding offer for me to contact him personally once I have my cell phone back up and running to guide me through downloading the app and setting up remote viewing thru my PDA. Now that is truly SERVICE!

If you truly want a company that will serve your security camera needs go to Security Depot in Calgary and deal with Duncan. My experience with all 3 of these guys has been well above and beyond the ‘regular service’ we normally get everywhere these days. I am awaiting business cards from them so that I can hand them out to the neighbors inquiring about my new camera system. I know that Duncan, Iain and Darrell will treat them right. Don’t bother with the out-of-the box crap from the big box stores. Save yourself the grief and go direct to people that know what they’re doing!
