these guys are useless.
i had breakin. nothing happend.
they dont even know anything.
last month i had renovation done. all the devices were out, they dont care, even never bothered to call me just to confirm that your devices are not working.
now when i cancelled my service. they are still taking money out of my account. bank cant do anything because they keep trying it everyday until it withdraw.

The "technical support" sucks. They tried many times to reset my key pad on the phone because the hydro went off but was not successful. the lady said i will call you back and never did. called back the next day she claims to say that i was suppose to call back! She proceeded to tell me that she would have to send out a technician and would call me back with an appointment time...never did! I had to call them again. Looking for another company that speaks better English

Today, I came home and became a prisoner in my own home. The alarm system was activated and credit where deserved - was very loud, alarming you could say. I wish I could have vacated the premises, but I live here. Whether I opened the front door, a window, walked through the living room or went upstairs the alarm was triggered. In reverse - closed a door, window etc.

There was of course, no fire or police response - as I never activated the service. Understandable. The system works - the customer service, leaves little to be desired. For clarity please read on.

Approximately one year ago I moved into my very first home - it was both exhilarating, and to be honest, a little scary at the same time. The home I purchased had an Alarm Boss system pre-installed.

Though I never called to activate the service - one day I came home, opened the front door to hear the familiar chime of an alarm system. I called in to ask how this came on line and was advised that our builder had granted them access to premises, and would I like to activate?

(In fairness, we were in occupancy at the time and had not closed. Technically, the builder owned the premises and I was technically, renting. Which still affords me the right of 24 notification for access.)

I was understandably upset that access was granted to my home and as such declined - wanting to explore my options. Yes, I declined - to an actual Alarm Boss representative. This becomes relevant.

It is important to note here - there was and is no legal mention of a security system in my legal and binding Agreement of Purchase and Sale.

Back to this evening - I placed numerous calls to Alarm Boss (7 to be precise). The alarm would go off each time I moved to a separate floor, or open/close a window. Within approximately 4 -6 minutes of each call the alarm would then go silent. Each time, I was hopeful the reset took hold.

An escalation was requested - please, please help me make this stop. I have next door neighbors, we all need to sleep and my cat - where is the poor cat?? I then received a call. I was advised that a technician would be required on-site; there was no way to walk me through a reset on the phone. Incidentally, I would be charged for this service call - despite having no contract with Alarm Boss.

I would have to call in the following day to action this request - yes, they understood I could not close my windows or leave for work tomorrow - there was nothing they could do. After all - they can not simply reset a home's security system.

My frustration at this point was very high, when again, the alarm sounded its cry again. I apologized to the wonderful people who answered their "after hours line". They could not help me or access my system but would have an owner contact me. I am still waiting....

Why I am I writing this (and in so much descriptive detail):

- I literally have been a prisoner in my own home
- I have no active monitoring service or agreement with Alarm Boss
- I respect they can not simply reset a home owners security policy - see above
- If they were looking to error on the side of caution; 7 alarms no phone calls to verify there was a break in/fire (how could they, no service agreement); and no police or fire service was ever dispatched. How effective is their service? (It very well may be effective - circumstances in this case are only disputing the customer service received.)
- Would customer service not dictate at min a service call?
- I am living with a persistent beep advising the system is off line (better option). My next door neighbors are living with it. Thank you to the kind person at police services to letting me know about battery options.

Again, the actual alarm service works - I would simply suggest that there are alternative options that may provide a higher quality/level of customer service and acknowledgement. I can not speak to dispatch services, again I have no contract and as such did not expect dispatch.

My comments are for review and one person's experience.
