Chocolate Addict

I checked out Chocolate addict in the summer and it did not live up to expectation. The store was hot (chocolate shops should be kept cool to preserve the chocolate) and the bonbons were not kept cool. The staff answered that Callebaut chocolate was used to make their bonbons; if so, it was not Callebaut's best quality chocolate as it did not taste very "chocolately". I tried a couple of their truffles and could not finish a whole one. The chocolate coating was dull and very thick yet soft (Callebaut chocolate if tempered properly should be nice and firm) with an "industrial" taste and mouthfeel. The plain dark chocolate did not taste very dark, mostly of sugar. If you're downtown, there are places producing chocolates of much better quality!
