I went in with severe acute hip pain. I was unable to get to my chiropractor downtown, so I tried here. I was not overly impressed...HAD to get an x-ray. HAD to sit through what felt like one of those time-share sales about neck health (which I already knew) and an assessment of how badly out my neck was. I felt like I was being sold a product. It was clearly a set up he had done numerous times. He already had the x-ray viewer lit up with an xray of a healthy neck, and labels attached that he pointed to during his pitch.

---

I went 3 times, 3 days in a row. Each time he only worked on my neck, not any other part of my body. I asked the 2nd and 3rd visit if he was sure he didn't need to adjust anything else. He told me no. Assured me that once my neck had returned to its proper curvature, that everything would be fine. He also told me that once my neck had returned to its proper curvature, that I would never get sick.

---

I have been going to Chiropractors for at least 15 years, and I have never had one only adjust my neck. After the second visit I spoke with a co-worker who happened to have also seen this chiropractor - and they told me that for them as well, he only every worked on their neck.

---

On the third visit, he "adjusted" my neck by coming down with force on the back of my skull 2 or 3 times.

---

It was after that that I decided this was not appropriate, and that I would not be returning.

---

Each time he adjusted my neck he'd have me walk around the room and ask if my hip felt better. He always seemed surprised that I didn't feel immense relief immediately.

---

In addition, I was in an immense amount of pain. The first morning it took me over an hour to get out of bed, make it to the toilet and take a shower. I had to crawl onto and off of tables multiple times each visit. I had to go to this room with this table and lay and have a tens machine on my hip and get up and go to this other room to lay on the table for an adjustment and then up and down....being in that amount of pain, I don't understand why they didn't do everything they could to ensure I only had to get on and off the table once seeing as how difficult it was for me to do so.

---

Today I went into my health claims to see if a particular claim had been processed yet, and see that I was charged $50 for the x-ray (that was not expressed to me) and I was charged $30 for an assessment on top of the first treatment of $40. I was clear with them that I just needed an emergency adjustment because I couldn't move - that I had a chiropractor already. This "assessment" was him telling me what my x-ray showed. At least my "assessment" from my regular chiropractor included a full body scan to show areas of my body that were identified as green, yellow and red. The x-ray charge and assessment were not told to me before hand. If I had known the x-ray was going to be $50 I would not have consented.

---

In retrospect, I should have asked for a bill when I left, but since they direct billed, I didn't think to ask to see, especially when I asked the front desk and they told me that the amount was $40 - which is actually the amount of a regular treatment. In retrospect as he whisked me off to his x-ray room I should have asked how much it was going to cost.

---

So while they were nice and friendly, I'm not impressed with how they were not up front with costs, how I spent a good 90 minutes at the office on my first visit, and the majority of that time was being told how important neck health was and with the focus of attention for adjustments to my neck. I wouldn't recommend going here.
