St. Hilda's Senior Care Community, Toronto Reviews (5)
Have been visiting relatives etc in retirement homes and St. Hilda's passes the test.
Residents are calm and well behaved, dining area is nice and the area inside is kept clean. On several occasions have handed a holiday, birthday card to staff and it always gets delivered, don't always have the time to stop and visit my relative.
My aunt has been at St. Hilda's for the past 5 years and was given very good care since her surgery and after. Recommend this retirement centre and it is also in the heart of the city.

My mother had to move out of her room twice in three months for bedbug treatment. When I requested compensation after the second occurrence, I did not receive the courtesy of a reply. Cleaning cursory at best.
$60.00 + $7.80 HST wrongly charged to her account for return trip taxi rides she never took. When I checked online taxi cost calculators, I discovered that taxi charges for the short distance she supposedly travelled should be around $11.00 each way, INCLUDING HST. In other words, if she had taken those taxi rides, she would have been overcharged by $45.80.
A person who had dementia and could not contradict such errors, or whose bills were paid by a Power of Attorney not in close, frequent contact, could be seriously ripped off.
I am encouraging my mother to explore other housing options.

My Mother is certainly not in the facility described in the review by 'HAPPYGIRL11' below!
Although SHE IS LIVING AT ST HILDA'S TOWERS, she and we, her family are entirely happy with the staff, food, day to day care and medical care provided.
Although family and/or friends visit almost daily, we have never seen any of the conditions described by HAPPYGIRL
After looking at several similar residences we made the choice of St Hilda's and now, after several months, are still sure that we made the right decision.

Staff looks very unhappy and run down, the food is horrendous and unhealthy, medical staff is all over the place and rude. Resident screaming in the dining room after being left by psw/nurse to sit for hours. She also began to swear at the people around her. Building is dingy and it smells of urine. The bathroom had feces on the floor. Boring activities, this place needs a massive renovation. After the tour my mother and I ran out of there and never looked back!
Lovely caring staff, great place for Seniors to live
