I had such an amazing experience working with Scotia Personnel!
I interviewed with them to become an Au Pair in America, and this experience has been the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I have Scotia Personnel to thank for it.
They were so helpful, kind, and had exceptional communication throughout the whole process. They set me up with my Au Pair program, helped with my application, and gave great guidance on picking my host family. They took care of the entire visa process for me and made the whole experience of doing a cultural work exchange stress free!
I cannot recommend them enough. Still to this day I’m in contact with Richelle and Marilyn from Scotia Personnel, they love hearing updates of how their au pairs are doing!
Thank you Scotia Personnel!!

Being an Au Pair in the states was a dream, it was the best thing that I needed to do for myself. I had an amazing time and experience. I loved my host family and where I was located. I extended longer and stayed an extra 9 months. It was the perfect amount of time because I knew I wanted to jump into education and start school. I'm grateful for every moment and for my American family.
Scotia Personnel was an absolutely amazing company to work with for having been my first time in the program for wanting to be an Au Pair. The whole team , but especially Richelle and Marilyn have been beyond amazing. My whole process of becoming an Au Pair was so easy and non stressful because they helped me with everything from getting my visa to the paperwork and answering any questions that I had. They are very professional and easy to speak to. Having that communication was great.
My entire experience was terrific and I loved every part of the program and people. Thanks to the Scotia Personnel team.
I'll recommend them every time!!

Scotia Personnel helped me travel to England in 2018, where I stayed for 2 years. They made the process so easy, from helping with the visa, paperwork and finding a job, to moral support through the process. All the staff I worked with were so friendly kind and helpful. It really made the process so much easier and took the fear out of it. They also set me up with a life changing experience. I was 19 when I went, and taking a job abroad, learning about other cultures and traveling the world has forever changed my life. It was an enlightening experience and gave me a level of independence like no other. Not to mention memories that will last me a lifetime. If you are debating on taking on this process, I strongly encourage you to do so, it will change your life forever, in a way no one can take from you. This is your time, and Scotia Personnel is a great first step towards it.

I went through Scotia Personnel to au pair with Au Pair in America. Richelle and Marilyn were unbelievably supportive and helpful throughout the entire application process and continued to check in with me while I was in my au pair year in New York City, making sure that everything was going well and that I had everything I needed. Scotia Personnel made sure to provide me with all the information and resources I needed to make sure that my time as an au pair was seamless and enjoyable.

Since returning home from au pairing, Scotia Personnel has continued to reach out to me with new and exciting opportunities and has now facilitated my getting a nanny job in a new city. I am so thankful for the opportunities that they have provided me with and for all the love and support I have received from Richelle and Marilyn along the way. Without a shadow of a doubt, I would recommend anyone interested in work and travel opportunities to go through Scotia Personnel.

They’re excellent! My sister has done senior care and childcare jobs with this company for over 20 years now, and she has friends who have worked with them as well….loved the experience of working with them. They’re friendly and have a commitment to service, consider them the ‘go to’ company if you’re looking for a job…or if you are looking to hire someone!

Scotia Personnel is a great company to work with. For my first time being a part of the Au Pair program I couldn't ask for better team of people to help me along the way. Richelle helped me with every step and made it very smooth and excitable process from start to end . I got to experience living in California because of them and took a road trip from one side of American to the other after my program ended it was a experience of a lifetime. I would for sure work with them again in my future adventures as it wouldn't of been possible without them. if your looking for a fabulous team to get you started on your next adventure these are the ones to help. Thank you Scotia Personnel :)

Marilyn, Richelle and the whole team at Scotia Personnel are absolutely amazing. Moving to the UK was a huge decision for me back in 2017, and they held my hand throughout the whole process. They found me a place to work and live, set up my interview with the hotel, helped me with my Youth Mobility visa application, and answered my hundreds of questions quickly and professionally. Very soon after my application was submitted, they presented me with two hotel options. I was very happy to be placed at a beautiful historic hotel just outside Oxford. Even after the initial move, the team stayed in touch ensuring I was comfortable and happy. I even met my European partner!! We have been together over 3 years and now live in central London. I have travelled to AMAZING places in Europe, Africa and the Middle East since moving here- London is a great base to travel from. When my youth mobility visa expired, I was not ready to move back to Canada permanently and leave the European lifestyle and was fortunate enough to obtain the Ancestry Visa (thanks Nana!) I am forever grateful for Scotia Personnel, giving me guidance and support during the whole process, which can be exciting but alsoa bit scary. Remember- life begins on the other side of your comfort zone! THANK YOU!

Scotia Personnel was an excellent company to have a first time travel experience with. From start to finish, they were available for any questions, concerns, or advice.
When I was nineteen and looking for an opportunity to travel abroad, I really wanted to have a life changing experience. Scotia personnel was able to pair me with an amazing host family, I still speak with them to this day. It genuinely changed my life spending three months in France with my host family, the bond I created with the two girls I took care of was so strong. I loved being a part of that family.
I enjoyed my experience with scotia personnel so much so, that I have chosen to move forward with them to find an au pair for my family. They are the only people I would trust to find a safe, good person to join our family and to be a big sister to my son. What was the most amazing was that I worked with Scotia personnel six years ago, and the people I worked with still recognized my name and voice! I couldn't believe they remembered working with me so instantly. It just proved to me that they really take there time to find good quality candidates on both ends, the families we go and see, and the people striving to become an au pair.
I definitely wouldn't recommend any other company for an international experience.

This is my 3rd travel experience with Scotia Personnel. I have been to the states as an au pair, England in a work exchange program, and am currently back in the states again. Richelle and Marilyn have worked side by side with me and have helped me all along the way to make the process as easy and smooth as possible. I have done so many amazing trips and made such incredible memories in all my experiences and am so grateful for this company for being able to provide me these opportunities.

Scotia Personnel has changed my life and has given me so many opportunities even after completing the 4 programs I participated in.

I had never been away from home before and at 19 not sure what I wanted to do for school I decided to go away with the Aupair in America program. It was the best decision I ever made. The kids were 2 ½ years old twins (a boy and a girl) and the family is so welcoming. This was back in 2007 and I still go out and visit them once a year. Through the Aupair program I have made many amazing friends as well from around the world, including a friend in Norway we got married a few years back, which I attended and stayed with her parents. The second program I participated in was being an Aupair in England. I lived in a small seaside town which allowed me to see a different part of England. My sister and my best friend both did the program the same year as me in 2010. My sister now is married with a baby and one on the way with her Husband. The next two times were in Mallorca Spain. I loved it so much the first time in 2012 that I went back in 2014. Living on an island in Spain was amazing and both families were so welcoming and wanted to make sure I got the most of my experiences. One family lived near the beach and owned a small boat while the other lived in the mountains. I also made so many friends the first time around from all over the world that I was able to visit Hamburg Germany, and a little town in France. Most recently I met a friend in Krakow Poland for a 4 day trip. Now it is my turn to get married and a lot of these friends along the way are planning their trips to Montreal. I have not stayed in touch with the other 3 families as I have with the one in the USA, mostly because I had spent a year with them while the others ranged from 4 to 6 months, however the experiences I had with each one will stay with me forever.

Scotia Personnel helped me find an amazing family in California to do an Au Pair exchange with. The opportunity allowed me to explore the state coast-to-coast, audit classes at Stanford University, and enjoy evenings in San Francisco. I was also able to travel to Japan for 8 months with my host family!

None of this would have been possible without this incredible agency.

If you're looking for adventure and a life-changing experience, this is it. Thank you, Scotia Personnel!

My new latest adventure and my new adventure that is coming up.

To whoever is planning to go all I can say is just go you will fall in love with your Adventure!

I am Hailey from Canada and I want to tell you about my new experiences working with Scotia personnel in Canada and my upcoming experience in the USA. I have gone to so many places (Netherlands, Italy, China) and the next one is California! Right now I am working in Canada through Scotia Personnel, looking after a baby in Toronto and we have moved to Halifax for a few months. I have loved my time working with this family. Now for my next adventure in October I'm going to Silverdale California in the States with Scotia Personnel and I'm extremely excited to go there and meet the American family. I can’t wait to go camping, hitting the beach and I want to go to Disneyland! As a young person it would be silly not to go and explore another wonderful country with truly kind people!!

When I started Scotia Personnel first I went as an au pair to the Netherlands, then I worked with a family in Italy. I made great connections and made so many friends. It was a wonderful experience there so I thought it'd be great to continue working with Scotia. I then joined the China program and it was so much fun, I made so many friends like I met people who were from Netherlands, Italy Germany United States, I found some wonderful people when we all met with in the same program. I was there for about 10 months and honestly I could never find enough new things there’s always something to check out. Then it was back to work in Canada and next the USA!

I truly loved my whole time there all the places and the people. All of it has truly touched my heart!

I found out about Scotia Personnel when walking through a career fair through my university. I was taking engineering and only had some experience working with kids when I did babysitting years before. I still applied because I thought going abroad for the Summer would be a great opportunity and even though I only had a small amount of experience in childcare, I had done good work in the past. Thanks to Scotia Personnel, I had two experiences working abroad. My first experience was when I got to work as a camp coach in The United Kingdom and the second time, I worked as an Au Pair in Italy for a family with two young boys. Both experiences, the most valuable things Scotia Personnel did was guide me through the process for my travelling, get me in contact with people I would be working with and they were understanding about any questions and problems I had when applying because it was my first time travelling out of country by myself. Before travelling, I tend to get nervous and anxious and Scotia Personnel really helped with my nerves. The first year, they got me in contact with another camp coach who I made a great friend with and the second year, I was speaking with my host family (now called my second family) a lot before leaving and helping me get in touch with people I would be spending my Summer with really helped ease my nerves both times. Both Summers were amazing experiences and before I got the call from Scotia Personnel after I applied the first time, I never would have thought I could have a job abroad while I was still in university. But more importantly, I never saw myself as a childcare worker. I did it before but I never thought it was more than a favor for my family friends (that I happened to get paid for). But now that I had my two experiences abroad, meeting new friends, experiencing different parts of the world and feeling like I had an impact on the kids I worked with, I can't imagine myself not having worked with Scotia Personnel. Which is crazy because I was debating on going to the career fair in the first place. If anyone is debating on taking a Summer to try an experience like becoming a camp coach or an Au Pair, I couldn't recommend it enough and Scotia Personnel made it so simple and way less stressful than I thought it would be. Also, being an Au Pair and a camp coach are very different experiences (I can't recommend one over the other either. They're both great but one feels like a fun summer camp with a different bunch of kids every week, and the other feels like you're a big brother/sister for your new family for a few months) and the process for recruiting for each of them are really different but I was able to do both seamlessly. So that is a testament to how easy they made the process. Thanks to everyone at Scotia Personnel, I had two of the best Summers of my life!

When I interviewed for an Au Pair position with Scotia Personnel in 2016, I was left with a positive impression, and this cultivated our strong working relationship. When corresponding with them through emails, phone calls, and follow-ups, they are always prompt, enthusiastic, and professional. Even though I'm an avid traveler, seeking an Au Pair position was still an experience outside of my comfort zone, but they ensured peace of mind and made me feel comfortable taking on a new experience. While in Italy, France, and Spain, Scotia Personnel stayed in contact to ensure that my experience was going smoothly and positively. They were a support system that gave me advice, coached me, and addressed my questions and concerns.

After my incredible experience Au pairing, I have stayed in contact with Scotia Personnel, whether it's to update where I am in the world or to discuss new opportunities that are available within the company. After being abroad for two years, I returned to Canada in 2017 and I had not considered continuing my journey abroad. However, I received a strong recommendation from Scotia Personnel that secured me an amazing teaching opportunity in China. Furthermore, I have been in China for 3 years now, and have been able to explore Asia and travel to 30+ countries all with the continued support and encouragement from Scotia Personnel.

Thank you, Marilyn and Scotia Personnel for providing me with many international opportunities that continue to shape my world view, strengthen my resiliency and adaptability. I am forever grateful for this company. They have my highest support and recommendation.

I started working with Scotia Personnel in October 2017. After hearing Marilyn speak at my college, I knew this was a company I wanted to partner with. At first contact, they helped me decide on what country I wanted to go to, sending me heaps of information about the destinations. When I decided to go to Italy, Scotia Personnel talked me through the process of interviewing with families. They checked in before the interviews and we discussed how I should present myself, key points about the family to take note of. Also, after each interview, they called again and we talked about what went well, what I liked and didn't like about the families, and what the next step would be.

When a family and I decided on each other, Scotia Personnel helped me with all of the legal paperwork, signing the contracts, and applying for a visa. I can honestly say that without the help of Richelle, I wouldn't have been able to navigate the Visa process. Once I got to Italy, Scotia Personnel checked in on me several times throughout my 10-month stay, and ensured I had a smooth and positive experience!

Scotia Personnel is a phenomenal company to work with. They are a highly organized and professional group of individuals who guide you through each and every step of the process to go abroad. Scotia Personnel patiently answers every question asked of them quickly and thoroughly. Throughout my entire experience with this illustrious company so far, Marilyn and her staff have been nothing but kind and informative. They were with me every step of the way, from picking a country, to interviewing with families, going to Italy, and returning home from my placement abroad. I highly recommend working with Scotia Personnel, and am looking forward to any future dealings I have with them!

Hi I am Hailey, I am 23 from Canada and I want to tell you about my experiences in 2018 and 2019 working with Scotia Personnel. I started last year when I went to the Netherlands first and then I went to Italy. I was an au pair and I made great connections with people, I made so many friends, it was a wonderful experience there so I thought it'd be great to continue working with them. So I then joined the China program and I was in China for about almost 10 months. I started January and I just got home October 6th and the whole time it was amazing and new. I went through all the recommendations for picking up proper host family and I found the best one for me. I could I truly love them and I continue to stay connected with them, and I plan on going to Australia with them too because we created such an excellent relationship in China. And if your idea is to build relationships and bonds that will last a long time and then you should choose Scotia Personnel because not only do you get to work with great people but you get great friends along the way…. you meet them, you talk to them, you share stories. I am still messaging with them in China, because it's still nice talking, sending them photos, catching up the exact same way I would with my friends back in Canada. So I definitely give them as many stars as possible because they are great and they truly care about their job, to make sure our experience is wonderful and wholesome so I hope you join their team and continue travelling cuz it be lovely to meet you along the way. You always meet new Au Pairs and I made friends from England, America, Germany as well as in China… there so many people in the program that are from different countries but we're been brought together the same reason, to make friends to learn more see the world. So good luck travelling in the future and hope to meet you on the road!

This past year in the race of trying to find a summer job I stumbled upon Scotia Personnel on my university's job listing site. The job listed was an international Au-pair/ English Tutor and I knew that I wanted to go to Italy, but I didn’t know how I would make it happen. I applied anyway and I received a call. From there, everything was explained to me clearly and professionally. Scotia Personnel helped me realize that it was beyond possible for me to go! So, with all the program information in mind, I decided that I would go. When it was time for me to pick a family, they made sure that the families I chose from were safe and fit well for me. Through them, I found a wonderful family that I stayed with for 3 months in a small medieval town called Sarnano (near Ancona). It was amazing! We went to Rome, Tivoli, Florence, and Turin. By myself, I traveled to Milan, Bologna and even Ibiza in Spain! I learned so much Italian while I was in Italy, I went with a basic understanding of Italian and expanded my knowledge far beyond what I ever thought I would learn! Now I can read books and watch shows in Italian with little difficultly which feels amazing as I’ve been monolingual for most of my life. While I was away, Scotia Personnel checked up on me every so often to see if I was doing well and that I was happy. I’m so glad that I au-paired through them because they provided me another level of support that’s necessary when traveling abroad. Thank you so much Scotia Personnel!

This past summer, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to teach abroad through Scotia Personnel in Santiago de Compostela, located in northeast Spain (the region of Galicia)! From the beginning, Scotia Personnel (specifically Marilyn and Richelle!) were extremely knowledgeable, supportive and personable. As a result, they connected me with a school placement that was the perfect fit for me, leading to the perfect summer experience. Prior to my arrival in Galicia, I traveled to Swizterland, France, and other regions of Spain, including Barcelona (part of Catalunya) and Madrid (part of Castile). After 10 days of aggressive travel, I arrived in Santiago de Compostela, a city rich with Celtic music, Neoclassic and Baroque architecture, the freshest seafood from nearby fishing villages of Galicia! Very quickly, Santiago became home and my colleagues and students became family. In addition to teaching two English classes to elementary aged students and an English Literature class to high school aged students, I also choreographed a play for 55 students. The school’s model was incredibly unique, for it integrated English instruction with Music and Theater classes. The school day ran between 9AM-4PM, and I spent my afternoons and early evenings running through the parks of Santiago and exploring the restaurants, shops, and fine arts culture. Additionally, the school provided wonderful experiences for traveling around the region of Galicia with students, including Cies Islands and Castro de Barona. I am eternally grateful to Scotia Personnel for connecting me with a summer program that was enriching and life changing!

This past summer I had the amazing opportunity to work with Scotia Personnel Ltd. I had a the esteemed opportunity to work with a representative that took ample time to coach and mentor me through the entire transition process. This summer I went to Calabasas to work at Salvation Army camp to work as a Program Team member.Through the entire experience I learnt that turning values into goals is of utmost importance to staying true to who you are and to being self-accomplished as a leader. As a leader in the Early Childhood Field, I strive to create moments that allow people to feel that they are better off after they have interacted with me. As a leader in the Early Childhood field it is very important that I recognize the leadership of others. As an Early Childhood leader it is my responsibility to empower children to reach their highest potential by channeling their hidden talents. Part of my philosophy of Early Childhood Education recognizes that children are capable beings and they are more than competent to make conscious decision about their wellbeing. During this opportunity, I was able to see parts of my philosophy in practice, interacting with school-age children allowed me to see that children are more capable than we believe. The ability to be impactful and empower young children to trust their competences is one of the leadership competences that I acquired through the two-month internship. My Camp staff were definitely trailblazers as it relates to inter-professional practices. One very important part of their strategic direction is-to develop partnership and strong relationships with various community partners, with an effort to maximize services for students and families. My agency partners with a variety of community based social service groups such as; local foster care agencies, through this agency they are able to provide Families with services such as-family yoga, meditation, knitting circles, peer counselling and also mental health first aid for parents with children who have varied mental health illnesses. My agency follows under the mission of The Salvation Army and therefore partners with these agencies to provide parents and children with spiritual growth. My agency also partners with the city of Calabasas, California by allowing their staff members to sit on various advisory committees such as the Youth Advisory Council, Child Care Advisory Group and The Salvation Army Divisional District. I have had the privilege to become a member of the Program Team at the Salvation Army Mount Crags/Gilmore camp, this group provides information, advice and recommendations to Divisional Leaders through the Community and Protective Service Committee on issues affecting child care of children from 5 years up to 16 years. Some of these issues include but are not limited to, special needs funding, resource centers funding, wage subsidy, childcare fee subsidy and health and safety issues related to playgrounds.I left California with lifelong friendships, I feel like my mentorship definitely continued, I invited a few to home in Canada and they were able to spend a few days at my house. I left so honored to be the leader for a group of driven and highly talented group of individuals. I was happy that I got over my imposter syndrome and was able to open up to me staff and also have that reciprocated. I am forever in-debt to Scotia Personnel for afforded me this rewarding and life-changing opportunity!

Thank You Scotia

I went to England to work at a kids summer camp as a camp coach, with the help from Scotia personal. The camp had international and local kids, some learnt English and did activities and some did activities all day. We also had excursions every Wednesday and some Saturdays where I was paid to go look at castles and tour London with the kids; I even got paid to go to a theme park! I made a ton of friends - both Canadian and English- and experienced cultures from around the world through the kids I took care of. On my days off I travelled the uk with newly made friends, exploring places like the white cliffs of Dover, London, Canterbury, and beaches where I swam in the sea. I definitely plan on going back next summer!!

Teaching English in Verona, Italy was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Working with Scotia Personnel to further this experience was an incredible journey. The staff at Scotia Personnel are very easy to talk too and incredibly friendly. At first, I thought travelling and Nannying would be a cool experience but I never thought in my wildest dreams that it would come true, would be as seamless and easy as it was and that I would get to live in Italy with such an amazing family that I now call my Italian family. Going to Italy to live for two months was very scary…I didn’t speak the language, I didn’t know anyone and I was away from home in a different country for two months. To say the least this trip was life changing.

I arrived at the airport in Verona and my family was waiting for me with flowers. They were so excited to meet me and I felt the same. The language barrier was hard at first because I wanted to say so much to them and they wanted to say so much to me… thank you google translate haha!! I remember the little girl when I first met her had the biggest smile on her face and she kept hugging me and holding my hand. I immediately made a sister. She grew up with two older brothers so she was pretty excited to have an older sister. We did everything together. She especially loved it when I styled her hair.

Every person in their family opened me into their family with open arms. I went to a family party with about sixty extended family members attending. I was nervous because their English wasn’t great and I had to socialize with all these new people for the afternoon. Everyone was so excited to meet the “Canadian” girl. I was welcomed in by so many and it made me feel like family. The family offered me many things such as the option to travel, go out and explore, meet new people, have evenings out, taste new foods and see a new part of the world. The family was so excited to show me around Italy. We went to Venice for the day and got to see the canals and do a gondola ride. We also got to see a city that is all built on water which was unique.

Feeling nervous and anxious is normal and it just means you’re going outside of your comfort zone. I truly believe to have the greatest experiences of your life – you need to be outside of your comfort zone. This trip made me go out of my comfort zone because everything was a new experience in a new culture, which is why I truly believe this was the most amazing experience I have ever had. I have some new family members and a forever connection to Verona, Italy.
