My parents love Swiss Chalet. Went to the Denison and Woodbine location on Sunday July 5, 2014, if was my father's birthday and we ordered appetizers, had a couple of coupons, to be told that the manager would not honour the coupon. I was advised that the coupons were per table despite the coupon in small print said per guest, per visit. We still order the appetizers to find hair in the food, my mother’s order was mixed up 3 times and by the end of this entire ordeal we were no longer were hungry. We asked to speak to the manager and he did not come out until it was time to pay the bill to be confrontation to our entire table in front of the entire restaurant. I was so upset I had to ask him to leave our table. Then he came back again, and at that time I just put my hand up and said please leave let us pay and go. I paid the bill and we all left. This type of experience should never have happening, just because someone can wear a nice dress shirt, does not necessarily make them a manager. The saddening to all this is our family hold stocks in Cara Foods and if the restaurant manager treats people the way he did and continues to maintain these levels of customer services and Cara allows such, then we do not want any part of this, bad service levels can be a cancer, who else is being treated this way and as a result we are strongly considering pulling our stocks.

I went here with my girlfriends during yesterday's huge rain storm. The lights were out and they were only taking cash payments at this time. The manager let us know that they only had a few servers, and that the food would be quite a wait. We didn't mind and we were brought to a window booth that luckily had some natural light. It was my friend's birthday and she loves Swiss Chalet - so naturally, she got her way. We received free perogies on the house, and the staff even came out in the dark to sing our friend happy birthday and surprise her with an ice cream sundae. We didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive as we first expected. The food was delicious as usual, and the service was great despite the torrential rain and lighting issues. My friends and I were extremely impressed by the food and service, and are definitely looking forward to going back to this location.

Ordered by phone for delivery today, spent almost 20 minutes waiting to get thru, finally placed order & only wanted a chicken on kaiser ala cart, they said they can't do that, they can only send with a side, well, I didn't want a side, but, I said they could charge me for the whole meal anyway, but, only send the chicken sandwich. She then put me thru to customer service, where I sat on hold again for quite some time. The woman in customer service was very nice & helpful & said it would be no problem, but, they would have to charge. Ok, no problem. She said there was a 50 min guarantee on the delivery, this was now 12:30, when I started at 12:00noon. It never came till 1:50, an hour and a half for a chicken sandwich, then I see they sent the entire order, fries & all. Then when I went to put on my mayo, it was filled with bones, which completely turned me off. I couldn't eat my lunch after that, extremely frustrating & still starving.

This place constantly overcooks it's food. Sometimes they get it right but too oftern I get sawdust & rubber. I go to other swiss Chalets and never have a problem and I know to avoid this one BUT tonight I was kinda stuck for something in the area. Usually they save the overcooked stuff for the takeouts but tonight I dined in and had to turn it back 3 times. The waitress should have been downright embarassed to bring me the first plate - the pieces were so incredibly tiny and shrivelled. The 2nd plate wasn't much better and the 3rd plate wasn't much better than the 2nd. I told the waitress I was eating it out of desparation. She didn't even send over a manager. The food is bad and they all need crash course in customer service. Again, this Woodbine location only.

Swiss Chalet's unique, cripsy rotisserie chicken was inspired by a secret Swiss recipe, discovered by founder Rick Mauran, from Monteral. Today, the rotisserie - a large open-flamed overn that slowly roasts the chicken in its own juices so it's crispy on the outisde and tender and juicy on the inside - is still at the heart of every Swiss Chalet.
