We contracted with this company to replace fencing around our property on May 16th, 2016 (actually, the first visit by the rep was March 26th - quotation # 107248). Residential Contract # R-16968. We were told the work would commence in three weeks, and be done quickly. We told the sales rep, that the sooner it was done, the better as we needed the property fenced in as we have a dog, and our property backs onto a park, as well, the south side of our property is right next to a public walkway to the park. Work commenced on June 14th, 2016.

We had hopes that this project would be quick and done well as we knew the company had been around for years, and had done many projects in the area - including our original fence installation - approx. 35 years ago!

Sadly, this was not been the case. The installation "crew", consisted of three gentlemen the first couple of days. An older gentleman that apparently has been doing fencing for 30 years, and the other two gentlemen ..... that I don't know, were maybe in training. The first day consisted of them taking down the existing fencing on the north side of our property, putting sleeves on the existing posts, and pulling the chain link fencing down that side of the property, approx. 80 ft(that might be a generous figure). They put all of the old fencing and rails on our neighbours' boulevard, and left by 3pm. My husband called Carlo, and told him what had happened. Needless to say, my son and I had to go out and move everything to our property. Did I forget to mention that apparently the most experienced member of the "crew" has a pinched nerve and couldn't do anything really physical, and so he just pretty much told the other two what to do. That was day one.

Day two (Wednesday), the "crew" showed up, took down the back fence (the fence and posts on the south side had already been removed by our people when they had to re-grade the property), and dug the new posts. One on the back fence, and the ones for the south side by the walkway. That was it for the day, and they were gone by around 2:30pm. Carlo called my husband and told him they would not be here the following day (Thursday, but would be back on the Friday to finish. At least they took the old fencing and rails with them this time. This was day two.

Day three (Friday), the "crew" showed up - minus one. They pulled the fence along the backyard, and up the south side of the property, and stopped where it drops down to 4ft high. And then they left. Obviously, they didn't finish, which was disappointing, as we were hosting a BBQ that evening, and all of their materials and tools were on the walkway at the side of our house - so no one could use the walkway.

Day four (Saturday), the "crew" of two showed up, plus one .... the older gentlemans' grandson. They work on the little sections of fence on the south side, that serves as an enclosure and installed the gates. They also started putting up fence ties, and installing the caps on the posts that were missing them. They still didn't finish.

Day five (Monday), the crew of two showed up again. Now keep in mind that only one of them can do anything really physical. They put up some more fence ties, and they pulled the section of 4ft high fence (approx. 20 ft.). They still haven't finished.

So, they didn't show up today, which was Tuesday -June 21st.

Showed back up June 22nd, finished what they had to do and left.

One of the crew came by Thursday - June 23rd, looking for the remainder of the payment we owed. I told him that they were still missing fence caps. He said that we could pay him and that someone would come by the following day with the missing caps. Yeah right. I told him that he would receive the payment when we had the caps here and installed. He didn't seem to like that.

Same fellow showed up the following morning with the caps. We gave him the final payment, not because we were at all happy with the work, or the service received, we gave them the final payment so that they wouldn't come back. It got to the point where we actually cringed when we saw the truck pull up in the morning.

We had told the installers numerous times during the installation that we needed the fence to go right to the ground, with no gaps. What did we get? Gaps. One of the installers actually tried to tell my husband that the (chain link) fence needed to breathe .... really??

All in all, a horrible experience. Not the same company they used to be back in the day. Find someone else. I was contacted by someone from Roma after I left an unflattering review on their FaceBook page, asking me to send her all of the details and that she would investigate the situation. Never heard back. Have seen other reviews on other sites where people have had the same issues as us, I just wish we would have seen them beforehand. They obviously don't care about customer service, and at this point, I'm certain nothing will be done for our situation, so I'm posting this as a warning for other people out there. I don't know if it makes a difference, but it was the Bolton office.

I contracted Roma Fence to install a wrought iron fence around my property as well as 2 side gates back in the fall. All i can say is what a nightmare!!! They had no problem taking my deposit and telling me that they have the largest inventory in Ontario and they will send their installers within a week to begin installing. That wasn't the case. Instead I received a call from them a week later telling me that the fence style of my choice was not in stock and they need 2 weeks to fabricate them. Then 2 weeks later i tried contacting them, which after leaving several messages they finally returned my call and told me that they have a shortage of material and require more time. At this point i was absolutely furious. I then demanded my deposit back, which was not as easy as it sounds. Roma has been around for a very long time and are one of the largest fence companies in the GTA but i have no clue on how they survived this long with such horrible service. If you are looking for a fence i strongly suggest looking else where.
