Forest Haven Memorial Gardens was once in Sydney Nova Scotia I was an employee of theirs for many years.. One day i went to visit my husbands grave in dec. over 20 years ago only to find out that the entrance was not plowed. it was that way till spring when the sun melted it away. After inquiring about the conditions i found out that they pulled stakes and left town. It was then taken over by the province it was they sold to a business man who took the records he then left or something happened then he was gone. Later a gentleman took over and is still there doing his best i guess but it is certainly not what i was trained to sell .I have families coming to me even now with their problems which is very hurtful and that was15 yrs ago . im wondering what can be done to put a stop to these money grabbers for taking advantage of families at the worst times in their lives.. They even tried to get their hands on the perpetual care fund but couldnt thank god That was the only thing that saved us . There are uprights now allowed , plus extra expenses added The guy is trying to do his best but certainly not what was promised at the time of the sale to families shame shame on us for allowing this to happen without a fight. How do you get to these locations and warn the families .

A representative of Memorial Gardens visited my aunt after she had replied to one of their mailings. At that meeting my aunt selected and paid for the arrangements she wanted. My aunt is elderly and suffering from short term memory loss and forgot she had pre-paid her funeral through Memorial Gardens and again replied to one of their mailings. The second representative from Memorial Gardens sold her a pre-arranged funeral.
As my aunt's power of attorney, upon discovering this "mix-up" went to Memorial Garden's office located on Woodbine Ave in Gormley to straighten things out. I was told to contact the sales representative which I did and he informed me that I should not expect a full refund. Both the office representative and the sales representative of Memorial Gardens told me that they only keep records at the individual facilities and do not have a main client data base with which to check. I find this totally unacceptable and am warning families out there with elderly relatives to beware when dealing with Memorial Gardens Canada Limited

My son, Hunter, is buried at the Brampton Memorial Gardens, owned & operated by this company.
Right from the beginning this company and its employees have managed to hurt, upset, embarrass, gouge my wife & I. And every week it when we visit our son's grave there is another example of their callousness or incompetence.
The day after my son died we had the sales woman trying to upsell us with lines like, "you don't want his body to be crushed, do you?" and taking us to see plots and directing us to "premium" ones only.
Everything from incorrect speeling on forms over & over again, only being given the cemetery "rules" after we had paid and Hunter was buried, to having a little matchbox bulldozer removed from the monument because it was deemed unsightly by the staff while all around are garish adornments of other graves.
If I could afford it, I would have my boy moved to a different cemetery.
