Glendale Memorial Gardens

Saying goodbye to a loved one has to be one of the most difficult things we will ever have to do. Unfortunately, this past February I had to say goodbye to my Husband, my one true love of over 35 years, the amazing Dad of our children and adoring Grandpa to our grandchildren. At a time when you are most vulnerable, heartbroken and grieving you need to be surrounded by family for comfort. Although we did not have a viewing or funeral for George as per his wishes, were given amble time to sit with him in the chapel and mourn his loss together as a family. Not once were we made to feel uncomfortable, or rushed to leave. To the contrary, the wonderful staff at Glendale Cemetery made us feel welcomed, at peace and truly cared about.
While preplanning the services required and final resting place, I had the pleasure of working with Kim Ruggiero. Kim was superb, professional and compassionate. She lead my daughter Meaghan and I through every step of the process. In fact, when I went to gather my husband's ashes, it was early evening and Kim met me well after it was her time to finish for the day. I had enquired if there was a niche a bit larger than the one I had purchased available, not expecting to be given an answer right away. However, Kim spent the next hour or so with me searching to see what was available.
I would recommend to anyone to meet with any staff member at Glendale Funeral Home and Cemetery. Whether it is in their time of need or to take things into their own hands and preplan for themselves.

I would like to say thanks to Cheryl at glen view memorial garden cemetery, for helping my family with laying my husband to rest.She was patient, accommodating, even took my phone calls at home and shared comforting word in my time of grief. Recently we have said goodbye to another family member ( my sister ). The staff were wonderful, and the service was beautiful. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend Glendale for your loved ones. Our family will continue to use Glendale as our final resting place

Let's just say it looks pretty on the outside but the lack of professionalism, attention to detail and pure lack of experience shows. I went to another place for a loved one that has been caring for people since 1914 and it was so much better. From the not returning your call when your loved one passed away hours ago and you needed to talk to them, to just waiting in an office for things like a beverage you were offered and it doesn't arrive because it is obvious they are super busy. Too busy and maybe not enough qualified staff. They were able to show us sample of the rooms they have available but there were open caskets with deceased in them NOT professional in my opinion. Other minor things like the lack of a beautiful black zippered binder to keep all your loved ones details and to jot notes..nothing just "Do you need paper and here borrow my pen." Thank goodness this wasn't my first time and I know the difference. Do not waste you time. There was so much they did not explain that luckily I knew from the other funeral home I used.

there is a lot of cove up going on, digging the wrong grave, selling the same grave twice, making a headstone before the person dies. this sort of behavior should stop. Officials should be held responsible for their mistakes, instead of blaming the error on the deceased and their family

What a change with this building from 10 years ago. This building seriously needs some attention especially the 1st and 4th floor. Carpet and ceiling needs maintenance and the lighting on the first floor is so creepy. How can anyone stay while visiting on the 4th floor during the hot days and no air. What are these places going to look like in the next ten years? I think about the deceased who worked hard to save money for their funeral not knowing what the out come of their final destination. Family members should start complaining to Glendale Administration Office.

May 15,2016 -We recently visit the cemetery my mom, mother in law and brother in law buried here.
We were very surprised how dirty and lack of care the grounds were. The place was a mess and would not recommend this cemetery to any one.

We recently said goodbye to our dad and the caring and compassionate assistance provided to our family by Glendale Funeral Home & Cemetery was second to none. Having everything in one location, from the spacious, serene and aesthetically-pleasing viewing rooms, to the funeral service in the chapel, followed by the burial in the cemetery and returning to the cafeteria for a catered lunch was so appreciated during the very sorrowful and stressful times. The staff did everything humanly possible to make our experience a less painful one. I would especially like to thank Frank Mazza for being there for us during the pre-planning phase, the day of the funeral and throughout the process, including after the funeral. He really cared about establishing a relationship with the client, which is so appreciated. I would really love to extend a heartfelt thanks to Michelle, who's kind, compassionate nature came through in all the support provided. All the staff were warm, and very professional. They were also kind enough to provide a golf cart for mom, who has mobility issues the day of the funeral. We also received such positive feedback from those that attended. I would recommend Glendale Funeral Home and Cemetery to anyone who is not adverse to receiving the most knowledgeable and professional service by people who actually care. The previous reviews definitely do not do this organization justice.

My parents prepaid their funerals many years ago, and I see now what a mistake that was. At the time the grounds at Glendale looked lovely and well cared for. Now they are just a mess. The ground is badly uneven, graves have sunken and become swampy, and no one cares. If you call and discuss with them they just say there's nothing they can do which of course isn't true because other cemeteries manage just fine. The grounds are not well maintained - their idea of maintenance is just cutting the grass and otherwise they won't do anything. The day my mom's remains were buried we were horrified to see the scratches all over her urn (that weren't there when it was taken to the cemetery). They "forgot" the vault that had been paid for and were going to put the urn right in the ground. They mismanaged the arrangements and I wish very much that her remains were buried somewhere else.

MY MOTHER AND FATHER AND AUNT ARE BURIED HERE AND THEIR GRAVE STONES ARE CONSTANT GOING DOWN. YES, AFTER MY BROTHER GETS AFTER THEM THEY DO FIX IN HALF FAST SORT OF WAY. BUT THE SAME THING KEEPS HAPPENING YEAR AFTER YEAR. SURELY WITH THE MONEY THAT THEY RECEIVE THEY COULD BUT SOMETHING UNDER THERE TO STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN, AND AGAIN. IF MY BORTHER DID NOT COMPLAIN AND MAKE SURE THAT IT GETS FIXED NOTHING WOULD BE DONE. MY FATHER HAS BEEN DIED FOR 20 YEAR AND WHEN MOM WAS ALIVE THE SAME THING EVERY YEAR. I MAKES ME WONDER WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN MY BOTHER DIES AND NO ONE TAKES RESPONSIBLITY FOR THE PERPETUAL CARE THAT WE HAVE PAID FOR.

I agree, the grounds where my parents are put to rest are a mess...caved in name plates that have turned green from the weather. How can you invite people to use your services....?

I have seen all the work the cemetery has done in constructing new buildings, but they have been totally neglecting the grounds where many are buried and spent good money..Many graves are caving in as well as many stones have sunken well below ground level.I know we have had our share of rain but I really think it is time that they clean up the grounds..I go to Assumption @ Derry & Tomken and although they have also been doing much work the grounds are still very well kept..PLEASE SPEND SOME OF THE MONEY TOWARDS THOSE WHO PLACED THEIR FAITH IN YOUR FACILITY YEARS AGO, OR I CAN'T SEE WHY NEW CUSTOMERS WOULD WISH TO COME..

Glendale provides no customer service. I guess they think if you're dead you don't need it. They don't care, they have already have your money!!!!
I have been fighting with them for 10 months. They have made the same error twice. How much time does it take to correct a name.

This cemetary completely ignores phone calls and registered letters regarding perpetual care to gravesites. My cousin's headstone was damaged by the lawn care people and had someone not gone to view the gravesites, no mention of this would have happened, leads me to believe that they would not have fixed this damage on their own. Also they refuse to do anything about the amount of "sinking" gravesites at the Albion road facility. Go by on a wet week and see for yourselves!!!
I wouldn't bury my dog in this facility!
