I am board certified surgeon by both the American Board of Surgery and the Jordanian Board in General Surgery, with a subspecialty focus in bariatric, minimally invasive and robotic surgery.I treat and perform surgical procedures for a wide range of conditions, including abdominal wall and groin hernias, gallbladder disease, with a particular focus on obesity surgery.I received my MD in Romania and completed my surgical residency in Jerusalem and New York. I pursued further specialization through a Minimally Invasive, Bariatric, and Metabolic Surgery Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, as well as a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Gastrointestinal Surgery in France and at Tel-Aviv University.As Medical Director, I led the bariatric and metabolic surgery program to achieve full accreditation through the MBSAQIP by the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. The program also earned the designation of a Blue Distinction Center by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.In recognition of my dedication to teaching and patient care, I’ve received several teaching awards, including the Howe Outstanding Teacher Award and the Gordon Page Surgical Clinician Award for Dedication and Commitment to Excellence in Patient Care.I serve on many surgical committees, chairing the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Committee (MBSAQIP), and I am an active member of numerous national and international organizations and surgical societies.I’ve authored many peer-reviewed original articles, case reports and textbook chapters.I also volunteer with the Red Cross and at the Community Health Center in Burlington, where I provide free surgical care to patients in need.
