Subject: Complaint regarding unsatisfactory transmission service and inadequate compensation

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the transmission service I received at one of your branches, and to request a full refund for the service rendered. I believe it is essential that I bring this matter to your attention and seek appropriate resolution.

On 21-Feb-2023, I visited the Mr. Lube branch located at 3767 Strandherd Drive, Ottawa, ON, K2J 4B1 and availed myself of the transmission service for my vehicle. I paid a total of $213, expecting a thorough transmission service as promised by your establishment. However, to my utmost dismay, when I recently took my car to a different mechanic for an unrelated issue, I discovered that my transmission had not been serviced at all.

The mechanic I consulted clearly pointed out that the GMC original filter was still present in my transmission, which directly contradicts the claims made by the Mr. Lube branch. Furthermore, I was shocked to learn that the seal for the oil cap was not properly fixed during the purported service, resulting in an oil leakage that caused damage to my transmission. This negligence has caused me significant inconvenience, as well as financial strain due to the subsequent repairs required.

In light of these revelations, both my mechanic and I immediately contacted the Mr. Lube branch in question to address this issue. Rather than acknowledging their mistake and offering appropriate compensation for their failure to provide the transmission service I paid for, I was offered a measly free oil change by Manager name Glen, as a form of compensation. While I appreciate the gesture, it is abundantly clear that an oil change, which costs approximately $80, is not commensurate with the transmission service I originally paid for.

Given the severity of this situation and the repercussions it has had on both my vehicle and my finances, I kindly request that you rectify this matter by providing a valid compensation.

I trust that as a reputable company, Mr. Lube will take this complaint seriously and prioritize customer satisfaction. I hope for a prompt response and resolution to this matter within 15 days, to avoid any further escalation.

Please find attached copies of the receipts for the transmission service. Should you require any additional information or documentation, please do not hesitate to contact me at the provided email address or phone number.

I look forward to a swift and satisfactory resolution to this matter. Thank you for your attention to this issue.

I contacted the office several weeks ago and no one has returned my call. Mr Lube charges their is 3.99 Shop supplies which was not explained to me at the time of service. The cost is not to be pasted on the consumer shop supplies I already paid for the oil change service this cost was not even revealed to be prior to payment. That is like going to a grocery store and buying your groceries and they charge you for restocking your their shelves. You hide the fact to the consumer without prior knowledge. I will ensure to follow up with my complaint to the better business bureau and with social media about these charges being forwarded on to the consumer. That cost is not my problem about you charging me supplies you are already charging for the oil change and double dipping. You cannot add a item which the consumer was unaware and you cannot charge the consumer for supplies thats your job to have the items on the shelf. No one charges this outrageous added fee.
Do not use Mr Lube services at any location particular the Milton location.

I went to MR lube location 1185 Fanshawe Park Rd W, London, ON N6G 0R9 for diagnosis of my car on Jan 24, 2023, License Plate CSVX150

After diagnosis they said the Spark Plugs need replacement. While pulling out the old spark plugs they broke the 4th spark plug and did not tell me about the damage. After putting the new spark plugs, the car did not turn on and it took several attempts to get the car to fire up, but it was dying again and again, in addition it started shaking which was not the case when I got the car to them.

When I asked for the old Spark Plugs, it was then, I noticed that one of the spark plugs was broken. When I questioned them about the broken piece they said that they threw it in the garbage and they would not dig in the garbage bin.

The current condition of the car is bad, as the debris/broken glass pieces of the Spark plug went inside the engine and contaminated it and many are sitting on the socket where the spark plug sits.

Above is the short version of the story. There are more details that I am happy to share and also the rudeness with which they were communicating with me when I was at the location questioning them that they have damaged my car rather than fixing it.

I goy my oil change done this morning at Mr. Lube 628, Burnhamtopre road, Mississauga Location. The guy showd me the the oil levels are good and is in good condition . I asked hime to still change it for me.
Now he did not even change the oil and filter and charged me. He did not even went underneath my car I am wondering how did he do that.

Complaint:
I visited Mr. Lube for a sound coming from my engine. They looked at my car and said: "Belt and pully for the alternator need to be changed, and adding rear breaks the total came to $992.31. I paid right away and asked when should I come to get the car. They said: "5 p.m.".
When I returned to get my car, it was still making noise and the mechanic told me that the problem was not the belt and pully but the alternator itself. Mind you, the mechanic that talked to me at pickup time was not the one that worked on, or diagnosed, my car in the morning. He brought a stethoscope and put it to my ear and connected the other end to the alternator. He said: "see, you can hear that it's the alternator making the noise". I said: "thank you for showing me and recognizing the problem but I have already paid for parts that didn't need to be changed. what do I do??? At that time he just smiled at me turned his back and walked away! This was very strange!
I found the manager and told him that the stethoscope clearly shows the problem area, why didn't you use this for your initial diagnosis? He asked me: "who gave you the stethoscope to listen with?" I said: "that person". He said: "well we needed to change it to make sure that wasn't the problem".
After that day, I never saw the stethoscope man there ever again!
I said: I want my money back. Manager, Raj... said: I cannot! I said: but your diagnosis was wrong. He said that he knows but he has to talk to the corporate office to get approval to refund my money. I said ok, when will I hear from you. He said I'll call you by Monday. I waited and waited...
Well, that Monday has yet to come! I went back to the store several times after that on my days off, but he still gives me the run around saying it has to be approved by the home office and I have to wait.
So... a few weeks ago I called your home office in Mississauga to see what the hold-up is, and they told me was quite shocking; they said they had no records of my complaint! They had no idea what I'm talking about!

So what does that mean??? That means Mr. Raj has been purposely ignoring me, hoping I will go away!
This has made me very upset! I am at a point where I'm running out of patients, I am thinking about involving the media and seeking assistance in getting my money back.

But since I've realized that the head office has had no idea about my complaint, I'm willing to allow more time for you to kindly review my complaint and please refund my money. I never had any problems going to Mr. Lube until I visited this store.
Most importantly, it is not a professional procedure to forget and or ignore customers, especially unsatisfied ones. I was a business owner for years and never have I said something to my customers that I haven't followed through with.
This is unacceptable. Not only from a customer's point of view but also from a management/your point of view knowing how you are being represented.
Please respond, this has gone far enough. I need answers.

Have always gone to this location on 4926 Tomken rd. I am sure you have received numerous reviews about this location . I have to say that any issues that arise have always been dealt with a solution in mind . On numerous occasions Sarah your technician has worked on my cars never a problem and always goes above and beyond her duties. The manager Denesh
I believe is the reason for the success of this location . He has everything under control with a true professional attitude . With this in mind I hope you convey this message to them and will continue to go this location because of their true work ethic .
