Gilbert Barrett DDS, FAGD, FICOI Promoting a Healthier community in a relaxing staycation environment. Gilbert Charles Barrett grew up with his family in the Big Country area of West Texas where chronic allergies and asthma were a constant threat and vacations were few and far between. After moving to Lewisville with his parents, Gilbert attended and graduated Cum Laude with a Biology degree from TX A&M University. He found his passion after a lucky sailboating accident at Grapevine Lake turned him on to dentistry. In dental school, his faculty mentors at Baylor College of Dentistry worked with him to establish his interest in CAD/CAM crowns and dental technology. After Graduating BCD in 2010, he joined the Army Dental Corps where CPT Barrett earned resident of the year for Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency in 2011. While in the Army, he earned his Airborne parachutist badge and was deployed to the continent of Africa where he led two One Health missions to Uganda. He was also the CAD/CAM officer in charge of training other Army Dentists to use same day crown technology of soldiers. Upon completion of 5 years of Army service he turned again to education. After completing 3 mini residencies in the study of implants, 1 mini residency in Sleep and Airway Dentistry and over 600 hours of continuing dental education Dr Barrett earned a Fellowship with International Congress of Oral Implantology. He also earned his Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry.
