Argos Carpets, Nepean Reviews (3)
We bought a nice engineered hardwood floor from Argos a few weeks ago and had it installed in our condo. At first, we were very pleased with the installation since it was such a change from old carpet.
After spending some time inspecting, we found multiple problems with the installation:
- Quater Rounds were not cut properly.
- The installer left to much of an expension gap in some of the room resulting in the quater-round not entirely hiding the expansion gap.
- One of the hardwood board used was already chipped and they installed it anyway.
- Since we are in a condo, our door frames for the bedroom at metal. I understand that the installer could not cut the frame in order to slide the wood underneath so they had to cut the board to fit arround the frame. I'm fine with that but they cut way to much material arround and filled it up with cauling. Only after 2 days the caulking is craking and it looks terrible.
- Since my condo is over 20 years old, the concrete subfloor isn't perfect. I was told that there would be no problem to level in area with levelling compound. They installed the engineered right on top of the problemed area. Now when we walk in that spot it looks like a trampoline.
I would not recommend Argos Carpet to anyone.

They put in flooring into my basement and did and o.k. job, but they did not clean-up very much. The biggest problem is when they replaced the carpet on my stairs, they damage my flooring while they cut the carpet, left glue on my floor, as well as they did not protect my flooring while they did the work and did very little clean-up after themselves.
Getting warranty work done is a bit difficult
