Futures Bakery & Cafe, Toronto Reviews (2)
Future's is located in the annex and frequented by U of T students and wandering bohemian types. You must have read Nietzsche to get the tip-jar jokes. A good place to scope out girls in horn-rimmed glasses, if you're into that.
Also a good place to read the classifieds in the weeklies and subsequently make a poor life choice.
Breakfast is discounted during the school year if you're a student, which is awesome. But after a while the taste of those potatoes starts to remind you of what you did after you read the classifieds in that weekly, and you have to pretty much move away from Toronto to get the taste out of your mouth.

Future Bakery serves breakfast all day every day! They also offer various other foods and cakes that are simply to die for. Their large street side patio is great for people watching and pitchers of sangria with friends in the summer time.
Drop in and show your University of Toronto student ID and order anything off the Breakfast menu for only $4.00!!! (Unfortunately, the student special only runs from September until April but good to know none the less.) And if you don 19t have a student card that 19s ok 13 it is hard to find a menu item over $6.95.
My personal favourite is the scrambled eggs, home fries, brown toast and bacon with the Hazelnut Vanilla coffee. Mmmm...

best mashed potatos with mushroom gravy. ever. really.
when I lived in this neighborhood I used to live out of this place. It was half way between my house and the grocery store. As you might imagine the allure of breakfast at 8 pm was always enough to write off grocery shopping.
