Mississippi Lake Rv Resort, Carleton Place Reviews (10)
It is now being run by the Killam Corporation and has fallen into disrepair. The on-site shop has been closed for years, the current pool is overrun with weeds and not being maintained (or open), there are no social functions and the outside bathroom/showers are closed and not functioning. The garbage around the beach is rarely picked up and you can only go in the water a few inches before you hit the thick weeds that make it not swimmable. The company is always changing rules and trying to find ways to charge extra fees. The rates are one of the highest in Ontario but you don't get any perks that you would expect for a true RV resort for families. The staff are rarely helpful for the very few that are on site. Another one of the amenities they state they have is Free Wifi which barely works - if you ask about it they will recommend to get your own provider. Water pressure is very low and has a sulfur smell to it.
It's so disappointing because this is such a beautiful spot. The staff are rude and inconsiderate and do not value the good money I spent to rent a spot. I will never be coming back to this RV resort again.
Paid for two nights to come down and visit family. They charged me $12 for each family member to come in to visit! PER DAY!! On top of that they wanted another $7 each for them to be able to use the pool! Not to mention they are also charging $15 for 20 pieces of wood. You are not allowed to bring any in the park. The mini putt golf is pathetic. The beach is unusable and the water is full of seaweed. Glad we are only here a couple nights. WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE. And if you are smart you will avoid this campground as well. They will nickel and dime you to death.
Wow, man - be reasonable!!! Do you honestly expect all your guests to be able to use the campground and pool without paying? Imagine how busy the place would be if every resident and guest invited a few friends. I've never been there, but this is standard practice for most campgrounds, like Cedar Cove Resort, for example. If I was a seasonal guest I wouldn't be too pleased if the place was always overcrowded because there was no way to control the number of visitors. As for firewood, this is standard for all public campgrounds. There is a risk of disease from spruce beetles and Emerald Ash Borer, so visitors are not allow to bring their own wood.
We have a seasonal site and have been there for over 18 years. Gorgeous, clean, well run and lots of activities.
Great family park....we'll never leave!
Great family park....we'll never leave!
The owners of this place are dreadful. I would not recommend parking an RV seasonally there to anyone. They can decide on a whim to make you move with no valid reason. We had to deal with an estate and the trailer was there it was beyond ridiculous all because they didn't like the executor.
This place is wonderful. The park is gorgeous and my kids had a great time riding their bikes and playing with other kids. My husband and I enjoyed how QUITE and SERENE it was because in the city, we don't get that much. Nice big spots and everyone was really nice.
Just had the best week of my life!! Saw Ambush!! Great park.
I love it here! A really great family park and the owners and staff were incredibly friendly. Feels like home.
This is simply a WONDERFUL park...no tents, thank goodness!
This has tobe the worst campgrounds in north America
