I have been taking the bus to school, work and everything in between for roughly 15
years and have ridden on almost every bus this city has to offer (Lauzon 10 being the
odd one out), so I'm not going to sugar coat it, the system is outdated has below
average in customer service in all departments and an overall lack of car and
refusing to see the glaring problems, making excuses it only fractures whatever
foundation you think you have for the working Class and post secondary citizens who
don't have the luxury of affording a vehicle.

First this WAS a car town not anymore the big 3 is no more nor is it even half of
what it used to be so can we please move forward. Secondly for the past couple of
years its not hard to see that this city has been growing farther away from the
downtown core in areas like walker/old castle, Patillo road, Bandwell and Sandwich
areas. Every year the number of students attending both St. Clair Collage and the
University have been on a steady increase. So what has Transit Windsor done to adapt
to these changes? By driving almost the exact same routes with the same amount of
buses on said routes and the same schedule that hasn't significantly changed since I
was in grade 9. This results in overcrowded buses full of students during peak hours
with other commuters that might be left off because the bus can't hold any more, for the working class missed opportunities to even be to able to even apply to ENTRY
level job(s) because at least 70% are "not on bus route."

Now yes there have been some changes since I started riding, the old money and
transfer system has been given a much needed upgrade. However it was mandatory to be
changed because of the new circulation of currency taking effect, the old system
couldn't read the new coins and bills. The articles don't have to pretend like your
being proactive by giving us a system that other cities in Canada adapted years ago
and ours being done so late more then likely got government funding to play catch up
for all of our buses just like this "new GPS system".

This city is reactive when it comes to its public transit, a Windsor Star article
said there were over 1000 complaints pending and the number keeps rising year after
year and all I hear on Transits end are excuses and playing the blame game instead of
any short or long term goals to address these issues and further improve the system
that only ever sees a price increase every year.
So I'll start you off with an easy short term goal that shouldn't cost you anything:
Making the transfer times more than 2 hours ideally they should be 4 but even 3 hours
is better than 2. Here's why as soon as you get on the bus you have to (or at least
should) ask for a transfer, it prints off exactly 2 hours from the time you step on,
convenient yes but flawed because if for example I were taking a bus from the west

end (Collage Avenue Station) and I was going to the east end (Techumseh mall) I have
already used at least an hour of it traveling to half my destination and not even
getting anything done (this is why some customers will ask for a transfers before
they get off), so by the time I head back I will have to pay another $3. I know 6
bucks to travel across the city isn't bad but it takes the appeal of wanting to go to
the mall, movie theatres, or anywhere too far from where people live, that hurts local businesses and frustrates customers.

What is with the weekends? People work on Sundays and a lot of part time jobs strictly want the employees to work weekends both day and afternoons. Times are ridiculous and have needed more hours for a long time, even the week day times on certain buses (ones that usually run North and south) need both earlier and later hours, the Walkerville 8 can be the first one due to the amount of factories it has access to the Dominion 5 or Dougall 6 should be next due to the sheer number students that take them to the Collage main campus.

Its time for significant changes to the transit system not just a price increase or
being 5 years behind everyone else in Canada and calling GPS system new. Looking into
the where the job markets and locations are and finding ways to adjusting pre existing bus lines as well as introduction new bus routes.
