James T. Davis was founded with a single store in downtown Lynchburg in 1936 by James T. Davis, Sr. In 1967 a paint manufacturing facility was built on Candler’s Mountain Road. Following in 1980, the James T. Davis Paint Center retail location was opened. Later in 1995,Cal and Denise Henning,along with their business partner David Boie, acquired Davis Paint and James T. Davis retail. After more than 75 years of conducting business in Lynchburg, James T. Davis remains Lynchburg’s premier paint, wallpaper, and window treatment center.
