We were lucky enough to get Scott Jeffery to build our home. I honestly believe that God put Scott Jeffery in our path and we know now that the project wouldn’t had been possible without him.
Scott led us through the entire process while providing his advice patiently, listening to all our ideas no matter how bad these were. His entire team amazing, the interior designer (Trish) is very talented and really knows her stuff; the tiles installer (Mark) is an artist and went well above and beyond his work to pieces of art; the carpenter (Rob) another artist who created amazing and perfect pieces of furniture without a single mistake; and the list can go on and on for the kitchen guys (Ren, Marion), etc.
I can certainly say that Scott Jeffery is an amazing builder but most importantly: he is a very honest builder and person; we widely recommend him for your custom or production homes, you can be certain that you will be looked after and will received the best quality home possible.

Not the best builder you can have for the ridiculously high amount they charge. Our house is designed with awkwardly tall ceilings, not-so-good insulation, and only one thermostat/air conditioning unit for the entire three floors. It is impossible to keep the place cool in summer .

Not impressed and we do not recommend them

Jeffrey homes used to be the premier builder in the Durham region. They won multiple quality and service awards and took care of their customers.

Things have changed. This is Jeffrey 2.0. Company ownership has passed from father to son. The company is no longer run the same way. Shortcuts are taken and the service department consistently lie to customers and make up excuses.

Our home is nearly one year old and the service department gives us the run-around whenever we call. We have spoken to neighbors and they have had the same experience. This is a typical tactic taken by home builders to get you to stop calling them and just accept their excuses. We are not picky or unreasonable people (in fact we are probably more understanding than most), but the service we are getting is unacceptable. We are still fighting to resolve issues identified on our PDI nearly a year later. These will now have to be resolved through Tarion. In the past, the owner would have jumped to resolve the smallest issues Immediately - now they just ignore you and hope you go away. Our basement (and many others around us) have leaked for almost a year. That is well beyond what is reasonable.

We paid a premium for our home in Bowmanville (Brookfield community) because we thought the Jeffrey name was worth it. We could have bought through another builder in the same community for less cost but we were happy to pay it as we were under the impression that the Jeffrey name was associated with quality. They are not any longer. If you have doubts, come take a walk around our community and ask us homeowners about our experience. Our neighbors who bought through the other builder seem to be happier and have fewer issues than us. We have talked to many neighbors who agree.

The 2* rating is appropriate as they are now an average builder charging a premium price. They are not much worse than the others but certainly no better. Keep this in mind when considering buying one of their homes.

First of all I would like to say that this home has been the most expensive purchase of my life. From the build to closing now possession, So many problems I don't even want to start to list them very upsetting! The condescending attitude is just the icing on the cake. For the money we spent and what we are now dealing with my rating would be a zero if I could!

I have had the pleasure of hiring Jeffery Homes for 4 separate projects over the last 10 years -- from remodeling a residence to building a commercial office from the ground up -- and all I can say is this is one outstanding team! The compliments I get daily on our downtown Oshawa building are all about the exquisite design and finish and craftsmanship of the work. I have literally had zero problems with all of the projects handled by Jeffery Homes, which is why they are the only choice for me. I have gotten to know all of their skilled tradesman and labourers, and every one of them takes extreme pride in their work. The Jeffery Homes stamp is a hallmark of quality, design and timeless performance. Their adherence to old school values and customer care are the antidote to the large scale production builders of today where quality control and pride are in short supply. I recommend them 100%.

I am a Third time JEFFERY HOMES homeowner. The reason why my Husband and I, also now our Children, that live in the Durham area buy Jeffery is that all their claims on why to buy are TRUE!

Every worker building your home seems joyful to be there. Most of them calling themselves family to the Jeffery building team. Taking Pride in the craftsmanship of their skill that they provide. Their framer is second generation learning his skill from his father who started with Wayne Jeffery. Now The Sons are putting their stamp of over 30 years of building incredible excellens.

You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. 13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

From start to finish the whole buying experience was top notch. This company has it all together and produce a superior product. I would highly recommend purchasing from Jeffery Homes.

My Home is amazing I can't thank Jeffery Homes enough for all of their hard work. I have bought new homes from other builders before and the quality does not even compare. I have talked to many people that bought new somewhere else and ended up moving to a Jeffery Home because IT WAS THAT MUCH BETTER!!! One out of many major things that separate Jeffery from the others is their great painting and even thought they didn't have to they fixed my nail pops at my year end. Again I just want to say what a great Job they did.

I was told by the owner that I'm too picky and I shouldn't expect a perfect house because there is no such thing as a perfect piece of wood or a perfect human being. My home is 3 months old. I had mold and ice in the attic because the skylights weren't installed properly. My hardwood stairs are crooked. My walls are crooked. Some of the door frames are not flush with the floor. You can actually stick your hand between the bottom of the door frame and floor. Everything is a fight to get fixed. Once they have your money, they don't care. I was rushed through my PDI, which was mere hours before my closing. I have even been called names by an office staff. Its disgusting. The customer service is non existent... They are condescending and degrading. They have an excuse for everything! I wish I had never purchased a Jeffrey home!!! DO NOT BUY A JEFFERY HOME!

This builder is terrible. As soon as they have your money you are nothing. Will not fix warranty issues and blame the home owner when it is clearly their poor craftsmanship. If you bring any issue to their attention they tell you to go through your home insurance. Do not buy from this builder or you will regret it! If my family goes to the local park and speak with our neighbors they are all so unhappy with the quality and poor customer service. I am reporting my issues to terrion.

Once they have your money, they're done with you. Incredibly disorganized; mistakes every step of the way. Don't take the time to explain things properly, but don't want to take responsibility for misinformation when things go wrong. Will try to pass the buck and deny, deny, deny when it comes time to take care of issues. It will somehow be your fault that you didn't read their minds, or that they answered a specific question inaccurately. Be prepared to micromanage every step of the way if you don't want a pile of screw-ups at closing.

Cross your fingers that you don't have problems after closing, because you will be given the run-around, and eventually completely ignored.  ZERO customer service, and rude treatment from several head office employees.

The only staff worth their salt are the ones in the field - handymen and sales staff. Who have no power to solve problems and merely get stuck in the middle, as no other higher staff will get back to you.
