He and Veronica, his wife, partnered to build a fastener business, specializing in finding those hard to find fasteners as quickly as possible. The business motto, “If we don’t have it, we'll find it"

Brown Bolt & Nut, or BB & N, was established in 1951 in the city of Hollydale, California by Emerson C. Brown. Brownie, as he was affectionately referred to by most of his costumers, moved out from New York in 1936 and, after working sales for a few companies, decided to try his own hand in business ownership. He originally started Brown Bolt and Nut by sharing a phone line and shelves at Henry’s Welding. In 1974, Emerson moved the business to its current location in Paramount, California. Emerson and Veronica, his wife, partnered to build a fastener business that specialized in finding those hard to find fasteners as quickly as possible. The business motto was, “If we don’t have it, we’ll find it.” They incorporated the entire family into the business often bringing home work for their four children.
