RONA Coquitlam (Austin), Coquitlam Reviews (7)
Excellent manager and very helpful staff - they know the products they sell and where they are located - always make great recommendations
I shop in Rona occasionally as location is handy and closer than Home depot. I almost always find what I am looking for. Recently I needed color match for exterior of my house. Original paint didn't match 5 years old paintwork. The lady that matched the color from small sample was courteous and patient as it took few attempts to get satisfying tint. Once I did the touchups - bingo - you could not tell the difference. I was so nicely surprise and happy.
I could not find the receipt and handed back the merchandise. Manager gave me a gift card for the amount. I said I would rather have money or credited back to my credit card. He says he is not going to blindly give me money. Sir, I am customer and I have proof through my credit company that I bought merchandise that I just handed in. I didn't appreciate his comment that I am asking for is so out there.
I've been waiting on hold now for 5 minutes and they still haven't picked up the phone.
Sure it's a small store by todays standards.
Their selection is not that bad. They have things that home depot does not. They are not a repair shop so why would they fix your jammed circular saw blade( re...other reviewers comment).People tend to get hurt when they are not doing their regular work. Home depot might answer the phone but their people are pretty much the same. As a comercial constructor I find home depot is slipping. I am increasingly frustrated by the cheaper substitutions and shrinking # of specific use items they are stocking.

I agree with the last comment. The service in this store is awful. Answering phone calls seems to be down on their list of priorities. So many times I have asked someone for help or advice, but the assistant just shrugs his shoulders and walks away. When you do find someone who tries to be helpful, chances are he doesn't know how to help. I wanted to buy a new blade for my circular saw, but the old one was jammed pretty tightly on the saw. I asked someone to help get it off so I could have the new one mounted. The assistant fumbled a bit with it, then handed it back to me. "You do it," he said. Incredible. From now on, I shall stick to Home Depot.
terrible management says it all about this store!
