Sophie's Gown Shoppe

I almost didn't go into this store after reading negative reviews, but was glad I kept an open mind & decided to try it out for myself.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the vast array of beautiful dresses & sizes in all price ranges.
They have many jewelled belts, shrugs, shawls & necklaces to complete your ensemble.
Barb, the manager, has a knack for suggesting styles that would be the most flattering on me.
Her coworkers, Lisa & Kerri, were very helpful with zipping & "corseting" the backs of gowns to give it a final touch.
It was a pleasant experience!!

What can I say that I haven't said in the title. Service, or lack thereof was rude and condescending. Alterations were a joke, and an expensive one. Seriously do not go to this shop unless you prefer to walk down the aisle looking like the walking dead. Yep,after alterations my dress looks like the inside of a coffin. But like the rude associate said, not much we can do about it as the seamstress is going on holiday.

My first visit was to Sophie's. I am a mature bride and I had no idea as to what I wanted. I believe, it was Helen who had helped me. She was extremely patient. I tried out many dresses. My sister and I galavanted whole Windsor region and I went back to Sophies. I am glad that I did.

The dress I picked was a wedding gown, but I had it shortened as tee length dress. The seamstress was very accomodating and very sweet. She tailored my dress to perfection as I wanted. Thank you very much ladies, much appreciated and I would recommend to people I know.

Ughhh where do I start? We had an appointment to find bridesmaids
dresses, we get there and were ignored for the first 5 minutes, finally
when the associate/owner came over and asked what we were looking for
we told her we weren't sure and she scoffed at us and said how do you
not know what you're looking for? She made us pull our own dresses and
my bridesmaid asked to use the washroom and then let the lady know
there was no toilet paper the lady rolled her eyes and said aye yai yai.
so they started trying on the dresses with NO help and my bridesmaid
asked about ordering a certain dress and the associate said that dress
is 500$ dollars, do you have that kind of money to spend? After I heard that
comment I told my girls to stop because we're leaving. On our way out
my bridesmaid said we made an appointment to have help and hoped for
better service. And the associate/owner said then go elsewhere and
"Wished" us luck. I will never recommend this place to anyone ever.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
I was standing up in a girlfriend's wedding and I had to get my dress from here. Not only did it take over 3 months for my dress to come in, but when it finally came in it was the wrong dress! They offered to let me wear that one or to order one from the warehouse but it would have to be 2 sizes bigger. The new dress that came in was hideous so I decided to take them up on their offer with the bigger dress. They promised to alter it to fit me free of charge. When that dress came in it was obviously huge and I had to fight with them so I didn't have to pay for my hem/alterations! The manager came out and gave me so much attitude I couldn't beleive she actually ran the business. She specifically promised me I wouldn't be charged. I argued until I won and also recieved a little lecture on how to talk to people nicer to get what I want. (Thanks mom!) Obviously I was angry considering my situation and she made me feel like it was my fault. Anyway, after they took my measurements I had to return there 3 more additional times because the dress still wasn't fitting. (The last time I went in there for the dress was on a Friday, the wedding was on a Saturday.) I had no choice but to wear what they gave me. It was falling down all the time at the wedding (I had to use double sided tape and it was painful to remove) and I also noticed the hem at the bottom was totally uneven. In every picture of me at this wedding I can notice it and I feel my $275 bridesmaid dress was a total waste of money.
The staff is rude, they do not do a good job altering/working on dresses, and it takes forever for them to get stuff in. I cannot beleive this place is still in business.
I'm getting married soon, I will never go in there to buy anything and I refuse to order bridesmaid dresses from there.

I recommend that if you really care about your wedding, you do not step foot in this store. You'll thank me after.
