What started out to be a pleasant day, turned into a horrible experience once we stepped foot inside of Tatum's Bridal. I was out with my mom looking for my wedding dress, we had been to a few places throughout HRM and the last place we were at mentioned "Tatum's" was a great place to go, so we decided to take a drive down to Windsor to check it out.

What started out okay soon became worse. We entered the store like any person and removed our footwear and hung up our jackets, at which the woman at the cash (who was assisting another "bride to be" make a purchase) asked if there were anything she could help us with. To which we replied, not at this moment, we're just browsing. Just browsing the "Mother of the bride dresses" was alright, I was asking my mother about which type of dress she could see herself in and so on. Once the previous person made her purchase and left the store the cashier came over an approached us. She asked us if we knew what we were looking for. I mentioned that we were just browsing as I wasn't certain about the type of dress my mother or I was going to wear to my wedding. The lady decided this wasn't a good enough answer so she stayed less than 2 feet away fixing a display behind us for about 10 minutes. To which she then asked when and where the wedding was. I replied in a couple months and Cuba. My mother made a joke to the effect of a certain dress that would show her arms and that she was insecure about this area, the cashier for whatever reason rolled her eyes at my mother and then gave her a dirty look. She then moved away from the display and stood behind us with her hands on her hips staring at us, not speaking just staring. It was very awkward. As we walked away from the mother of the bride dresses and went towards the room with the longer length dresses, the cashier proceeded to stand in front of the entrance to the room and said "are you ready to go upstairs?" I replied, once we take a quick look at the dresses in here. Very rudely she said there is nothing in there you want. I said I would like to decide that, thanks and she moved away from the entrance. As we were heading in, she said "oh and by the way we close at 4 pm. I said that is fine, and asked what time it was, she replied twenty to 3. To which I thought was strange that she would mention that with almost an hour and a half before the store closes. At this point another bride to be and her parents were coming down the stairs at this time and heading into the room with the longer dresses.

We were just finishing up looking at the longer dresses and proceeded to head toward the bridal dresses upstairs to which the cashier came rushing up the stairs after us, making her way past us and heading toward another lady who was sitting in a chair up there. She seemed quite pleasant, I said hello and asked her how she was, she replied and was very nice. My mother noticed that the lights were being turned off as we were coming upstairs and heading toward the dresses. My mother asked if the lights could be turned on so that we could see the dresses, and another lady said that "oh well we turn the lights off when no one is here", but didn't motion to turn them on or say she would turn them back on. My mother said do you mind turning the lights on please, to which the lady then turned them on. This seemed to be a huge request by the way the dirty looks came from her. Anyway, I was near the top of the stairs when I heard the cashier woman go over to the woman sitting in the chair and whisper about the people (bride to be and her parents) who just went downstairs, she said "someone needs to go watch them downstairs they just went into the room", and then she said " and someone needs to watch them too, did you see them" referring to my mother and I. My mother was around the corner looking at other dresses and I went over to her to tell her that I was very uncomfortable in this store, that the people were very rude and unpleasant and now they are talking about the people downstairs and us. I don't want to be here any longer and I was having a great time today until we came here. The woman, same woman that greeted us when we came in and continued to harass us came over once again and suggested that I was in the wrong section. My mother then told her "my daughter would just like to browse for now until she finds a style she likes". The woman gave my mother another dirty look and just glared at her. She looked toward me and said "I don't think this is the section you want". I said to my mother that I wanted to leave I have had enough and I didn't not like the feeling Ive had since the moment i walked into the store. I felt as if I was a criminal on what is supposed to be a day in which I feel special. i had not had this kind of treatment at any other place that I attended. I couldn't believe it. I mentioned to all of the woman standing there that I heard them gossiping about the people downstairs and about us and she said " whatever and rolled her eyes". I proceeded down the stairs and put my shoes and jacket on and headed right out the door. This was such an unpleasant experience.

Please if you are going dress shopping there are so many places where the ladies are so sweet and want to make you feel special and beautiful on your big day, this is not one of those places. I have read so many horrible reviews about this place after my experience. I feel it is necessary to share with you all so you don't have to go through the same thing I did.
