I was looking for a dress for my daughter's wedding and Ethos was one of the places I wish I would not and have stopped at. I found that the salespeople are very aggressive and felt that I did not have a moment to think about the purchase. I should have taken a bit more time but alas did not. Needless to say, the dress was wrapped and rung in before I even came out of the dressing room. Once I got home (a 2 hour drive), I realized that some stitching was coming undone. I phoned in to the store and was not received very well. My husband returned the dress for me and was given "eye roll" attitude from the saleslady. Because I signed their receipt I was not allowed to return the gown, flaws or not. I went in on my own later and was pretty much given the same treatment. I asked why a refund was not allowed especially since the dress was not as good a quality as I expected for the price. (They had taken and wrapped up the dress so quickly on my first trip that I did not have time to even look it over). I was told that because it was an "event' dress, the minute you walked out the door they would not honor a refund. And while I was there with my predicament, another lady was in picking up her dress. She mentioned that she had previously been offered a discount but was very promptly told that there would be no discount. At that point I left the store... never ever to return again and I will tell everyone I know the same.

I had been planning my wedding for over a year, and my Mother and I decided to go to Edmonton to see what kind of selection they had for bridal stores. I am from a small city in Saskatchewan, and our bridal shops are lacking quality. So we made the long drive to Edmonton. While shopping for other things in the mall my sister suggested we check out the shops in the mall for a dress. We stopped at Ethos and tried on a few dresses. I found a dress I was in love with, but it didn't have a lace up back. The staff assured me that they could put in a lace up back no problem and would order fabric from the designer so it would be the same color and fabric as the dress. I was sold. So my Mother paid for the gown in full and we headed our merry way back to Saskatchewan. Well the dress came in early which was amazing, but we weren't expecting it for another month and we had made reservations at a hotel in the mall so we could pick it up the next month. So they told us they would hold it for us. I inquired about alterations, considering they had told us they would do it there and it would be no problem. And the lady snarkily replied "We don't do alterations here" I was in shock, they had told us they did. So we made arrangements for someone in our home city to do the alterations for us. Since we had given her no notice the latest she could squeeze me in was the end of march. So we made the long trip to edmonton to pick up the dress, and it was beautiful.. one small snag.. there was no fabric with the dress. We were told that it had to be somewhere in the store. So we waited for an hour for them to find it, no luck. Then we were told it had to be in the warehouse and that someone would call us after the holiday and let us know where it was.. and they would mail it to us. So we left the store. What I didn't get is how the dress could be received, have sat for over a month moved from the designer bag into the ethos bridal bag and no one noticed there was no fabric, when on our file and receipt it clearly had it listed. The dress is an off white, not ivory, not white, so the fabric is important. Tuesday came and went, no phone call.. the week flew by.. still no phone call. I called on friday and was made to feel like I was bothering them and that they are "looking for it" and would call me monday. So I wait.. Monday came and went.. no phone call.. tuesday..wednesday.. so finally on thursday I call them and again get the run around and she tells me that "We will call you when we have an answer" I asked when that would be, she said " I don't know" i again let her know I need it altered at the end of the month (2.5 weeks away) and she says "it might not be in". I recommend to everyone thinking about buying from this store TO NOT DO IT. IT's not worth your money to be treated like you don't matter. Its your wedding. We paid over $2000 for my dress. If I could do it over.. I would have went to the store next door with lipstick stains on the dresses over a store where they treat you like you really don't matter and that you are bothering them when you call.

A few weeks ago myself and my Mom went wedding dress shopping in Edmonton, so of course one of the first places you go when your in Edmonton is the WEM. We were both so excited, and i was really hoping to find the dress of my dreams just like every other girl out there and then we walked into Ethos. I stopped to talk to the lady, to tell her that i was looking for a Mori Lee dress. She asked me if i have tried it on before i tell her no and she rolls her eyes, a few minutes later i'm told that they don't have the Mori Lee dress in the store. And then the lady looks at me and says well the bigger sizes are up in the back on the wall, i was shocked. And i guess she could tell by the look on face, this lady then trys to pass it off as a joke telling me 'i don't why i said that because i am big as well". Not funny, since this lady is not big at all, i just brush it off and decide that myself and my mom would look anyway. We looked at all the dresses on the back wall plus more and no one came to help after 20 minutes of looking and losing my Mom in all the dresses, i decide to leave. I know this is a very long review but i would not want some other bride to be to walk into this place and feel the way i did on that day. I did however get the dress of my dreams from Bridal & Tuxedo Junction on 10550-109 street, the owner is so sweet i just loved her. And the prices are the best, i got my dress for 900 and did not have to pay extra for rush order. Brides to be CHECK THIS SHOP OUT!! And i hope everyone finds the dress of their dreams!!

There was a bit of confusion at first but in the end everything worked out for the best.
