Have you noticed that not only is there no 2SLGBTQIA+ section, but they don't carry any 2SLGBTQIA+ best sellers?
I spent an hour looking, and the only queer books they had were in the PSYCHOLOGY section (and there were definitely less than ten). Pride month was LAST MONTH and they didn't have a display or anything.
When asked, no sales person could recommend a 2SLGBTQIA+ book. They didn't even have Bell Hooks!
Bolens, another local bookstore that is maybe a quarter of the size not only has a permanent pride section, but has a 2SLGBTQIA+ subsection within every genre.
I have shopped at Russell's for 13 years, and I will not be returning.

I "inherited" a bunch of valuable critical theory and philosophy books from a room mate who ran off to another country. All but a few were in new, retail-ready condition. There were also some very nice, also nearly-new condition, Philip K. Dick anthologies, and several other good books as well. I wanted to off-load them, so I brought them here to sell. After "evaluating" them, the woman I dealt with came up and said with a big, but nervous, smile: "We'll give you $40 for these." I was blown away. Blatant rip-off attempt. I told her "no, thanks" while trying not to laugh and then left. Took them to one of their competitors nearby, and was offered more than twice that much.
Do not sell to these people if you want to get anything close to a reasonable price. Money-grubbers.
But -- they have a really nice selection of books (many of which I suspect they did not pay anything close to a fair price for).
There are far better used bookstores in Sidney and here in Vic. Avoid this one -- success has made them arrogant and greedy.

I went to the bookstore and had exactly the same experience. But not only was the price they offered ridiculous, the guy was also rude. I can not recommend selling your books to Russel bookstore, I would go to some of their competitors.
Russell's Books is a great all-around used bookstore. Very helpful, reasonable pricing for the most part, and a very good selection. Highly recommended.
