LoDano’s Footwear began in the early 60′s when Gloria, the founder of LoDano’s Footwear, began selling Italian imported shoes in her basement. A friend of hers was getting started in the business of importing and selling shoes in the US and he had odds-n-ends and defective shoes that Gloria sold to make a little pocket money. She kept getting more and better Italian shoes. Customers kept coming and eventually in 1964 Gloria and her mother, Josephine, opened a little women’s shoe store in the Mount Union area of Alliance. They continued in the women’s shoe business for eleven years until Gloria’s son, Jim, finished college and took over the business.
